You yelped as you almost tripped, jogging behind Vance. The two of you were running through the hallway, breaking through the doors and running as far away from the school before the two of you ran out of breath, stopping.
Vance was the first one to speak, laughing as he elbowed you. "See? It's fun."
Huffing, you shove his shoulder. You fix your messy hair, wiping your forehead as you looked back at the campus.
"Totally."
"Totally." He mimicked, popping his knuckles.
"Uhm... what if the teacher wakes up? What's gonna happen? Suspension? Exp—" You start.
"Jesus, I don't know! More detention, I guess." He explains, shifting all his weight onto one foot. "Look, if the teacher wakes up I'll take the blame for it. Does that help you goody-two shoes?"
Sorry, that I don't want the teacher to wake up and call my parents for ditching detention that my parents didn't even know about in the first place and if they do find out they will kill me and i'll only be able to go to school and back, no tv, no nothing. You thought, glaring at Vance.
"Fine." You mumbled, crossing your arms as you began to walk away. If you were going be 6 feet under ground in a hour or so, you might as well enjoy your last hour with freedom.
"Hey! Where are you going?" He shouted, shielding the sun with his hand as he watched you spin around, staring at him with a blank expression.
You opened your mouth before closing it tightly. Where were you going to go? The only money you had was in your sock drawer and you didn't want to go home.
Vance smiled at you, bringing his hand down. "Have you ever been to the Grab N' Go?"
-
"Hi." Vance spoke bluntly to the cashier, strolling past them to the pinball machine. Every time Vance went to play the pinball, there was the other cashier who absolutely adored him. Giving him free snacks occasionally. Then there was this one, who snarled at him every time he strode in.
"The infamous pinball machine." You whistled, reaching out to touch it before he smacks your hand away.
"Infamous?"
"Well..." You pressed your lips into a tight line, staring at all the drinks in the freezers. "Everybody knows how you beat that kid up."
He clicks his tongue, staring at the floor where he did in fact beat that kid up. Vance was sooo close to beating his higscore and some kid bumped into the machine— messing him up.
He shrugs, a small smile on his face. "He deserved it. Haven't seen him since, barley comes here. Which is good, right?"
"I guess."
"You wanna try to beat my high score?"
"I probably won't... but sure?"
"Yeah, you're right you won't. But it's worth a try." He half-jokes, lightly kicking the leg holding up the machine.

You scrunched your face up in disgust as you watched Robin and whateverthefuckhernameis holding hands as they laughed about something close to her locker.
Good for him.
You and Vance successfully gotten away with ditching, the teacher didn't even notice. Usually, you have to sign out when detention is over, but you nor Vance got called up to the office.
Throwing your books in your locker, you close it, marching off before you saw anymore of the couples PDA. You never imagined that the things you and Robin did, he would be doing the same with her.
