As the Crow Falls: Nothing to report except that my chaotic protagonists over here are about to figure out that they work very, very well together. Complete offline, posting weekly!

Song of the Deep: So, I may or may not have set a person one-week writing record this past week, most of it on this book. Suffice to say, it's back up to three months of buffer now 😂

Red Rover: COMPLETE OFFLINE! And because spooky season is approaching, expect to see more promotion on this one in the coming weeks. It's my first full-length Horror novel unless you count my Kels trilogy (which counts, but is more Fantasy vibes than Horror) so I want to give it a good run for its first Halloween!

Can You Cook a Dragon (Flash Fiction Collection): Pretends not to see. But I've accumulated a few good prompts that might yet tempt me this month, so who knows?

Rocks Can Dance: Like the chaos demon I am, I completely forgot that I paused this one on a way more fun scene than I was remembering, for the express purpose of tempting myself back to it later

Rocks Can Dance: Like the chaos demon I am, I completely forgot that I paused this one on a way more fun scene than I was remembering, for the express purpose of tempting myself back to it later. Will this finally succeed in getting me back into it before 2022 wraps up? We're gonna find out!

Super Secret Mystery Project™ That Will Remain A Mystery Until Launch: Currently stuck, bah. Glad it's a fluff project.

The Wall of Imanti: Um. This one is properly underway now??? After an internet-less writing retreat at the end of August, I'm now over 25k on this book. By some miracle. Which is just enough to get me past the inciting incident, LOL. Getting back to that epic-series life! Will this be another 200k chonker? Almost certainly.

So much for reducing my July writing goal and thinking that would put me behind on my yearly writing goal

So much for reducing my July writing goal and thinking that would put me behind on my yearly writing goal. I spent one of the last weeks of the month of August on a cottage trip with a couple of friends, specifically to make it a writing retreat. The cottage had electricity but no internet. No distractions. I got the idea to try and break my previous week-long writing record, and started midway through.

Friends, my previous week-long writing record was 45k words. It annoyed me that it was almost but not quite NaNo in a week.

My new week-long writing record is 55k.

And it shot past 50k because I just broke my one-day writing record, too, topping out at a clean 15k.

If anyone knows what the universe is putting in my tea, please tell me. I'd love to buy some.

Anyway, I'm now ahead on my yearly writing goal again, which is a good thing, because most of August (the month) was a wash. One of my cats got very sick... he was already sixteen, with chronic kidney disease, and that disease entered its end stage in early August. He stopped eating. I had the next two weeks to say goodbye, and ended up having him euthanized at the end of it, shortly before leaving for the aforementioned cottage trip. Turns out I write a lot when I'm processing something, hah.

Anyway, all that to say, that's why things have been a little chaotic this past month. Late updates, pausing my Q&A, some weeks without announcements. The fact that I am posting this almost a week into September. This fall is also going to be wild again because I'm back in school for the last two courses of my Master's, and will be helping renovate the house that me, one of my siblings, and a few others will soon be moving into. But hey, all the books I'm posting actively are either done or heavily buffered now.

Onward to [the rest of] September!
