Past, Present, Future

You see hope only after suffering

Only those who experience pain

Understand what pain they have faced

When we have one thing with us

We long for the other one

And once it comes along

We realize the past was better than the future

We wonder why we chose

Something that did nothing

To us or others, and to our minds

We don't live in a time machine

Where we can go back

Where we can tell our past self

"It's not right."

And we can look forward

Before making a decision

But you see hope
Only after suffering

Only those who experience pain

Understand that their wish can't come true.

Inspired by my own experiences of wishing I lived in a time machine, could revert time, and relive my life over again. Read my book SvayTimes for more context.
