" So. Moving on pretty quick huh?" Sirius asked and James looked up from his notebook with confusion.

" What?"

" We saw Severus. Dude you're gonna get in trouble." Peter said as he sat down at their table.

The library around them was relatively quiet with a few people mingling between the shelves.

" He was there as a friend."

" That's not what it looked like." Sirius smirked and James groaned.

" Guys..."

" Hey we support you, always. I didn't think you'd put the moves on so fast." Sirius had that mischievous glint in his eye and James sighed.

" I didn't think it'd work." Remus snickered and all three erupted in hushed laughter.

" Seriously he got the prince of darkness to come watch us play quidditch. He doesn't even watch the games his own house plays." Sirius said between wheezing laughter.

To him the fact James was almost guaranteed to get rejected by Severus was hilarious. The fact he didn't was surprising but equally amusing.

" Seriously what did you do to get him there? Did you give him a blowjob or something?" Sirius asked and James lept over the desk to slap his head.

" Don't be gross."

" But seriously. How?"

James sad down and fixed his posture.

" I gave him my scarf."

Sirius and Peter shared a look before bursting into my hushed laughter.

" He's such a sap oh my god." Sirius looked like he was in pain from how much he was laughing.

It was ridiculous. He looked ridiculous, laughing over something like this.

" He never even gave Mary a jacket without her begging for it. But his only Gryffindor scarf was well worth it for a moment with Snivilus."

" God James, what will Mary's heathens think when they see him walking around in your scarf?" Remus asked and Sirius rolled his eyes.

" Snivilus wouldn't be caught dead repping red and gold. He's probably gonna shove it into his closet and let it rot there."

" That's true." Peter pointed at Sirius and alas they calmed down.

" Are you done teasing me about this?" James asked and Sirius shook his head.

" Nope. Honestly thought you would die single when you decided to chase Severus."

" I'm not chasing him."

" Then what are you doing cuz you're sure as hell not just friends." Sirius raised his eyebrows and James whined into the crook of his elbow.

" I dont know. I think I can get him but I don't know."

" You definitely can. It's been like two days and he's already letting you drag him to practices. Give it a week and you guys will be joined at the hips." Remus leaned into his hand and James whined again.

" Mary is gonna kill me."

" Buddy you already dug your own grave when you took him to the infirmary." Peter pat his head and James closed his eyes.

" I hate having a psycho ex girlfriend."

" And you're freshly broken up too. If she sees that you've already moved on she might hex you again."

" I just gotta disappear. And somehow bring Severus with me." He said and the three cooed.

" Our boy is in love."

" Shut up no i'm not."

" Come on. We already knew you liked a guy before you and Mary became a thing. Was it Severus?" Remus asked and James looked at their expectant faces with a glare.

"....maybe."

And all at once they burst into noise again.

" I bloody knew it. You were always looking at him." Peter pointed and Sirius scoffed.

" I just thought he hated him more but guess it was the opposite."

" Come on guys, we gotta get him and Severus together. We need a plan." Remus planted his hands on the desk and James shooed them away.

" No plan! I already said no plan."

" No way you alone is gonna pull him Prongs."

" And why not? I'm funny, i'm handsome. Any guy would he lucky to have me."

" Not sure handsome and funny will be enough."

" I'm also smart."

" Well yeah but i'm pretty sure Severus goes for....put together guys." Remus said softly and James just looked confused.

" Whatever. I'm the full package. I'm handsome, i'm smart, i'm popular and i'm rich. I can get him anything he wants. Friends, money, gifts, literally anything." He announced and Sirius nodded.

" If I've learnt anything from being a Black it's that money will get you anywhere."

" Exactly. What would Severus like?" He brought his hands together and pondered.

The table went silent before Peter perked up, seeing a friend.

" Oh i know. Barty!" He called and Barty turned around at the mention of his name.

" Oh hey Peter....and the rest of you." He said the last part a little disgruntled but the only person who was bothered enough to be offended was Sirius.

" You're friends with Snape right?"

" Kinda, yeah. He doesn't like a lot of people but we're civil." Barty nodded.

" Great. Is there anything Snape likes in particular?"

Barty moved his books into his backpack and thought about it.

" Oh Mulciber said something about letters?"

" Letters?"

" Yeah apparently he had a long distance partner and they exchanged letters all the time. He was pretty bummed when they stopped coming."

They all hummed and James looked like he should have a light bulb above his head.

" I can write him notes then. That's kind of like letters right?"

" You like Severus?" Barty asked and James leaned back a little.

" Maybe. Why?"

" Nothing. Just that Severus already likes someone. No one knows who it is but he always has this lovesick look on his face." He shrugged.

Remus and James looked a big discouraged but Sirius was having none of that.

" Come on, our Prongs can beat any guy. You'll get him." He pat his arm and Barty laughed.

" Good luck. He's mad about them." Barty chuckled but Sirius' words kept James optimistic.

" It's fine. I'm sure i can pull it off."

" Yeah!" His friends agreed and he was feeling better.

" Thanks Barty."

" No problem Pete." Barty smiled and walked away with a wave.

When Peter turned around Remus was looking at him with a raised eyebrow.

" How about you and Barty huh?"

" Shut up Moony." Peter rolled his eyes and now it was Peter's turn to be teased.

They stayed there until closing when they had to rush to the dorms before curfew. But James felt it was a successful meeting even thought they got virtually no studying done.

At least he had an idea of what to do with Severus.
