"Sometimes it's too late when you realise what love is, sometimes it's the perfect timing"

——

The sky was bright and blue, just perfect for the destination wedding. Dressed in a dusty pink sheath column v necked spaghetti strapped ankle length dress, my hair neatly combed into a bun. Everything looked perfect, the groom's parents, his friends and distant families were all present.

But the groom himself held a cold, distant look. His eyes appeared to look as if he was search for someone else, someone who was not the bride he was meant to marry.

Clutching my son to my chest as I rocked him to sleep, a frown on my face was evident but I could not say anything and it made me feel so helpless. My eyes turned to the entrance door hoping Callista would make it before the wedding would start, it would pain me if these two love birds failed to meet each other.

I was startled by a hand on my waist, I turned to see my husband. He smiled at me lovingly, but I could also see the concern within them. I laid my head on his chest, closing my eyes before reopening it.

"She will make it on time right?" I asked him, even though I knew there was no possible way he would never find out. He didn't even know if she would come, I hoped she did not get cold feet and decided to back out last minute.

It made me hope I had gone with her, when the music started my eyes teared up. The bride was going to walk in and Callie had yet to arrive.

"If they are meant to be, no time can stop her from coming." He told me to which I nodded my head at him, I pulled my phone out in hopes I would receive an message but to my dismay there was none. I sighed before looking ahead, Angelica walked out holding a flower Bouquet in her hand, she had worn a beautiful white sweetheart, sleeveless wedding dress with the top being shiny and slightly see through. The gown had a long trail, her veil was thrown to the back making her face clear to be seen.

"I feel as if I have failed as a sister." I told Ace, he looked at me with a frown on his face. He placed both his palms on my face making me look at him.
"You have not failed my love, we both did not see their love. I am her best friend and yet I turned blind to all the signs, it is not your fault." He said and a low sob escaped my lips as I buried my head into his chest. I did sincerely hope that any time this moment Callie would walk through and stop the wedding.

"We have gathered here to witness the holy matrimony of Mr Angelos Dorian Castellanos and Miss Angelica Iris Agnes, today they will become one in the eyes of God. Their souls will unite and become one. They will enter in the matrimony of purity, love and holy." The pastor spoke allowed as we all settled down on our seats on the bench, I could not help every few minutes to look at the door in hopes Callie would arrive.

"Please repeat after each of my words, without a fail." The pastor said to Angelos and Angelica who nodded their head in understanding, I could see the conflict in Angelos's eyes.
"We understand." They both repeated and the pastor nodded his head. A bible in his hand as he began to speak.

"In the name of Gold  take thee, Mr Angelos Dorian Castellanos to be my Angelica Iris Agnes as my husband, to have and to hold from this day forward, for better, for worse, for richer, for poorer, in sickness and in health, to love and to cherish, till death do us apart." The pastor spoke the words that Angelica now had to repeat. I watched closely as every few minutes Angelos would look around with a frown on his lips.

I turned my head to Ace who's phone buzzed, he excused his self and I nodded my head watching as he walked away.

"In the name of Gold  take thee, Mr Angelos Dorian Castellanos to be my Angelica Iris Agnes as my husband, to have and to hold from this day forward, for better, for worse, for richer, for poorer, in sickness and in health, to love and to cherish, till death do us apart." Angelica spoke confidently with a smile on her face, she looked at Angelos ignoring his pained expression as she was in the moment of pure bliss.

"In the name of Gold, I   take thee, Miss Angelica Iris Anges to be my Angelos Dorian Castellanos  as my wife, to have and to hold from this day forward, for better, for worse, for richer, for poorer, in sickness and in health, to love and to cherish, till death do us apart." The pastor spoke again waiting patiently for Angelos to speak. But he remained silent, looking dejected and confused. I parted my lips hoping he would reject and run away but to my surprise I saw Ace begin to run towards Angelos, who's eyes widened and he let Angelica and approached Ace.

Gasp filled the room.

Ace whispered something into the ear of Angelos, making his eyes widen and take a few steps back. I got up with Ares in my arms, I hurried towards my husband and Angelos.

"What's going on?" I asked Ace, he looked startled as he turned to face me. His face held pain, as he lowered his gaze.
"C-Callie." He stuttered making me feel as if my heart had jumped out of my body, I approached him placing my free hand on his arms.

"Where is my sister, Ace?" I asked, he raised his head at me before shaking his head.
"She had a car accident on her way here, she's very critical and in the hospital. She was driving over the speed limit and..." he broke down in tears and I froze not believe my ears.
