Sudden Changes (Undertale Sans x reader)

(Surface) part 2

You looked at the television in shock, many reporters crowding around a single child short-haired child with a purple striped blue t-shirt being bombarded with questions.

Nonsense. Mt. Ebott. That mountain that was
said that you would never return from, but somehow, a little child managed to free the monsters underground. Wait. Monsters were real?!

"Oh dear. I wouldn't let those monsters get near that child. They look so scared!" Y/N's mother chimed in.

Your father nodded in agreement, you were wondering how did they do it? You glanced at each and every one of these "monsters" and they all seem to be very overwhelmed.

You walked back outside and told your bestfriend all about what you saw on the news, and how they freed the monsters from the underground and how they were real and-

"Woah. Calm down, that's what I was trying to tell you." They said, "besides, those monsters will know their place around town. No biggie." they said reassuringly

"That's not what I was worried about."
"I'm worried about how they will feel about us all, the rest of society on the surface?" You hissed.

"Let's just not think about it too much Y/N, let's go and get you a snack to help you stop thinking about what's on your mind?" They pat your shoulder.

You nod in agreement, but you knew that despite getting food to get things off your mind, your thoughts would still be clouded about the monsters.

THE NEXT DAY!

You woke up from your F/C bed, still not wanting to get up. But you had to! You needed to give some hay to the goats. You got up,  washed your face and brushed your teeth to head out in a jiffy.

You placed the hay and refilled their water trays.

That's weird, I don't see any figures inside my house like I usually do.

You walk back inside, expecting to be greeted by the sound of the television blaring. But no one was there, only silence.

A note with your moms handwriting was left in the table.

"Shit. How didn't I see this just now?"

It read,
"hi honey! Today we will be at the town centre to see the monsters and the human Frisks speech and how they got to the surface. Your bestfriend might also be there so do come along once you're awake, it finishes at 11:30 AM!"

P.S make sure to feed the goats and fill up their water trays!

"What time is it now?!" You said to yourself.

11:15 AM , fuck. I need to go quick!

You ran to the city centre, unknowingly in your PJ's. Only then you realised after your bestfriend shot a look at you

"Nice clothes, you really care a lot about this thing with monsters huh?" They grinned at you, laughing even.

"Here, your favourite!" They handed you your favourite hot drink snack. "I knew you were gonna be late and not have breakfast so I got one for you." They smiled at you

"Oh, thank you. I really appreciate it!" You sipped.

You looked up to see who was speaking with the human-child to see two skeletons on the side while a goat-looking monster in a purple robe with them too.

The smaller skeleton looked at you, probably because you were in your pajamas. He was smiling all the time, but you could tell he was grinning at you. You looked behind, left and right to make sure that he was looking at you. He managed to chuckle to himself before looking at Frisk again.

Oh god. How embarrassing.

"ok, uh, i never really got to introduce myself. heh." the skeleton winked at the audience. "i'm sans the skeleton, and this my younger brother papyrus." The crowd seemed to chatter when finding out that sans was the older brother.

"heh, i got a ton to thank Frisk for."
"a skele-TON."
The crowd was disapproving and whispering louder as sans grinned at his own pun. You let out a small chuckle at how stupid it was.

"at least they get it," sans looked directly at you and winked.

You choked on your drink and began to fluster as sans' speech started to be unclear. What? Did he just see that I laughed at his joke? Why am I feeling this way?

Your thoughts were disturbed by your bestfriend patting your back to help soothe your choking

"You good? That skeleton is really annoying with his no good humor." Your bestfriend said.

You didn't reply, all you thought of was the skeleton. Why was I feeling this way?
