Today is Saturday. It has been a couple of days since I've spoken to Eric and a couple of days since Shawn has spoken to me.

Because I'm unable to focus on school work within the four walls of my trailer, I typically sit in the Student Union to focus, while drinking a coffee prepared by a co-worker.

Right now I am working on an essay. The prompt is, "Where do you see yourself in 10 years?"

I honestly don't have a clue where I will be in 10 years. Hopefully with a stable job as a Journalist. I've always wanted to be one of those people who travel and then write for magazines about the place. Maybe take pictures of the places with my beloved Polaroid.

Knowing my luck, I will probably end up with a husband whom has the same tendency my father does of using me as a personal punching bag.

"Ophelia, hi!"

I look up to see Topanga heading towards me- alone oddly enough. I feel like I never see her without Cory or Angela. Emphasis on Cory though.

"Hi, Topanga. How are you?" I move my bag off of the seat next to me to allow her to sit down.

She sits and smiles, "I'm good! How are you doing?"

I lightly sigh, "As good as I can be."

"I heard about what happened."

I chuckle, "I figured so. Which part though? Me sleeping with Eric, Eric and Shawn fighting about me sleeping with Eric, or Eric telling me he can't sleep with me again?"

Sure, I was joking about the situation, but that doesn't mean it doesn't sting.

"All of it," Topanga looks sympathetically. "It just seems so unfair to you."

I shrug.

"I'm serious! They had no right to make that decision for you. Did either of them even ask how you felt?" I shook my head now, and Topanga scoffed in disbelief.

"They're boys, they have no idea how to approach a girls feelings like that. I'll be fine, honestly, Topanga. Even if I wanted to see Eric again, he made it clear we are friends and cannot be more than that." I begin to put away my things, forgetting my assignment completely.

"Hey, do you wanna come to a party tonight? A girl from my criminal justice class invited me to go, she told me to bring whoever I wanted. Please say you'll come!" Topanga's eyes are bright with enthusiasm, "You can even stay with me tonight!"

It takes a little bit more convincing, but I end up agreeing.

After I get ready a couple hours after leaving the Student Union, I leave and meet them at a house that is already spilling with people.

A couple of laps around the house later, I have a cup of something in my hand and have found Topanga and Cory.

"Ophelia, you made it!" Cory comes and hugs me, followed by Topanga right after.

They both let go of me and announce to the rest of the friends that I have indeed shown up. I say a couple of hellos to other people that I recognize from my classes. I see Alicia and chat with her about the assignment we have for Creative Writing.

Cory and Topanga talk to me for a bit longer, but let me go when Eric clears his throat. "Can I just talk to you for a minute?"

I nod and we walk to the corner of the room we are in, people excusing themselves and heading to the liquor table.

"I think we left off on the wrong foot," Eric leans lazily on the wall.

Man, does he look good.

"We left off on us being friends." I lean against the other wall, moving slightly closer so that we don't have to yell over the music. "You were pretty clear on that."
