I didn't go back on my word from yesterday when I agreed to come to Shawn's place for a party.

I worked today, my shift ended at 8pm tonight. I left the Union and made my way to the staff bathroom to get ready.

Making the decision of what to wear is extremely hard, especially when I don't know what kind of party this is going to be. We're nearing the end of October and it's been getting increasingly colder.

After deciding this morning that I would suck it up and wear a dress, I regret only bringing a dress. I could really go for a pair of jeans right now.

I throw on the tight black dress and look at myself in the mirror. This dress is really, really short. I guess I've grown since the last time that I put it on.

"It's either this or the work polo," I grumble to myself.

I touch up my makeup, winging my eyeliner and putting on a sangria colored lipstick. My pale lips are desperate for any color- they weren't blessed with the natural dark pink that so many people have.

After putting on some platform combat boots, I put my bag in my car and lock it.

The walk is short and once I make it up the flight of stairs that leads to their apartment, I knock and wait to be invited in.

I can already hear the commotion of people talking, it's almost 9pm now so I'm guessing people just started showing up.

The door pulls open to reveal a very put together Eric.

He gives me a once over and grins, "Damn, Phelia. You look-," he pauses for a second. "Can we forget that whole just friends thing? I take it back. I'm in love with you, please say it back."

I giggle at the dramatic show Eric has put on. "You're not even begging on your knees."

Eric drops to his knees with no hesitation.

I laugh some more and grab his arm, "Get up, idiot. People are going to start looking."

"Let them look. I'll do you one better. I will tell all of them that they must stay away from you because you are mine now," Eric gets up and throws his arm around me.

I shake my head, "I think people believe that anyway."

Eric finally finishes his show and brings me over to the fridge to grab a drink. He hands me a mixed punch and guides me to the couch to sit down between him and Jack.

"Hey, Phelia. You look great." Jack kisses my cheek as a greeting.

"Thank you, you guys both also look great." I lean against the back of the couch, making sure my dress isn't riding up and giving everyone a show.

Eric jumps up once someone knocks on the door again, "Be right back."

I nod, acknowledging him and then face Jack again.

"So, how are you doing?" I ask, not knowing much about Jack's current life. He's always around but we never have the chance to actually get to know each other.

"I'm good, how are you? How's the head doing?" Jack leans up slightly and takes a look at it.

"Well right now it's covered in concealer, but it seems to be healing well. The bruise is almost gone. Thank you again, by the way." I pat his knee, "It means a lot that you would help me like that."

Jack's smile leaks sympathy, "I would do it again in a heart beat. You mean a lot to Eric, Shawn too. And I know that we aren't friends like you are with them, but please, come to me for anything. And I mean anything."
