Today's the day I've been waiting for since the day before Thanksgiving. The day I will finally have a place of my own.

The woman that I had spoken to about the apartment before Keith's relapse of anger has finally called me back. She apologized for the delay, blaming it on a family illness. I don't care that the response was so long, it's here now.

I am at the apartment office now, signing the lease and setting up a payment plan. Today I had to pay the security deposit and the first 3 months rent money.

"You just have to sign a couple of things, and we will be all set!" The realtor, Lillian, sends a bright smile my way. "You can move in as soon as today, too!"

I can't wait to tell the guys that I no longer have to bum in their apartment. I also am super selfishly excited because I didn't want to make any real moves on Shawn while sleeping in his bed; now I have a bed of my own.

"And all done!" Lillian claps her hands. "Congratulations on the apartment! Here's two keys, information on the building, and your parking pass - just put it in your car window."

I thank Lillian for everything that she has done, and leave with everything she gave me, plus my copy of the lease.

I don't have anything with me because I wasn't expecting to be able to move in right away, so all of my stuff is still at Shawn's or in the storage unit.

I walk to the guys apartment and walk inside, seeing bedroom doors shut. I can't tell if anyone is home or not. I leave the lease on the counter and go into Shawn's room to begin packing my bags.

The front door opens and shuts, but no noise comes out until Eric knocks on Shawn's door with the lease in his hand.

Eric holds it up, "What's this?"

I bite my lip to hold back a grin, "I got myself a home."

Eric runs over to me and pulls me into a hug, "No way, Phelia! Congrats!"

"What's with all the laugher when I'm not here?" Jack busts into the room. I break the news to Jack that he's losing a roommate, to which he said "Oh, Eric. I can't believe they kicked you out."

Shawn comes in as Jack's hugging me, asks me what's going on.

Bringing on the dramatics, I fall to my knees and start fake crying, "Shawn, you'll never believe it. You'll never be in bed with me again!"

Eric laughs and hands Shawn the lease agreement. Shawn wraps me in a hug and I get my third congratulations of the morning, but this boy whispers in-between his cheers, "We'll be in bed together again as long as I have anything to say about it."

A blush creeps onto my face as we all make our way to the kitchen.

"So, where is this apartment?" Jack questions as he makes himself a fancy cup of coffee with the beans I got him for Christmas.

"Well, it took me about 4 minutes to walk here," I wipe the imaginary swear off of my forehead.

Shawn, Eric, and Jack helped me move my things in. My clothes have all been put away, bedding has been made, and dishes have been put into cabinets. My new apartment is about 1.5 the size of the trailer, so there are some gaps in decorations and such.

I will have to go shopping for some things this week.

The boys are putting together a book shelf that the apartment building supplies to the new-coming tenants.

I'm ordering them a pizza right now because I know for a fact they'll be working up an appetite right now, and I have no food to offer them.

I've been hanging out a lot with Shawn since Christmas. We haven't necessarily been alone, but when we're hanging out with everyone we kind of stay with each other. He's also been showing up at my job and sitting with me during my breaks. Whatever is between us seems to be heading in the right direction.

New Years Eve is in 2 days though, and he still hasn't asked me, so I may just be being delusional.

The pizza arrives and eventually Jack and Eric announce that they're making their leave.

Shawn doesn't say that he's leaving, and I'm a little nervous when the door shuts and he's still here.

"Thank you for helping me today," I pour both of us cups of water.

"Of course," Shawn takes his water and leans against the kitchen counter lazily. Lord, don't do this to me so soon. "Now that you have your own place..."

I wait for him to finish his sentence, "We can hang out alone?"

"Yes, we can hang out alone," Shawn smiles at the ground, "we can do a lot of things alone."

Another blush burns my face.

"But I was thinking more along the lines of we can go on a date now," Shawn asks, something hopeful playing in his voice.

I grin and nod, "I would love to go on a date with you."

We both look at each other until one of us gets the balls to say something else. It's me.

"You wanna know something?" He nods. "I haven't wanted to make a move on you because I've been sleeping in your bed. I didn't want to ruin our friendship, and I didn't want you to feel weird in your own room."

Shawn examines me from head to toe. He pushes off of the counter and stops right in front of me, locking my body for the island behind me. Shawn takes my face in his hands and moves closer to me, stopping when our lips were a half an inch apart to whisper, "It's a good thing we're not in my room now."

Shawns lips slam into mine, the hunger from the past couple months showing itself now. His hands wander my neck and hips as mine wander his back. Our mouths disconnect for a beat before Shawn's lips reconnect with my throat.

Between the kisses, I can hear Shawn make up a sentence.

"I was thinking our first date would be the New Years party at Will's?"
