luke stepped out of the shower, missing the towel set on the floor and yelping as his feet slipped out from underneath him.
he stood up quickly, grabbing another towel and wrapping it around his waist fervently. his eyes darted around him, hoping no one heard his scream. he walked out of the plain, white bathroom and into his plain, beige bedroom. excusing a wall filled with band posters, a desk, a bed, and a closet, luke's room was empty.
he removed the towel from his waist and ran it through his hair. luke threw on a pair of boxers and tight black pants, along with a random shirt he found in his messy closet. luke ran downstairs and kissed his mother, liz, on her cheek. "good morning," he welcomed cheerily.
liz placed her hands on her hips. "why are you so happy?" she questioned sharply.
luke shrugged as he placed two pieces of toast in the silver toaster. "dunno, is it illegal to he happy?"
liz rolled her eyes, a smile poking at her lips. she opened her mouth to speak, but luke beat her.
"oh no!" luke shouted, over-dramatically. "are the police going to come now?"
liz began to quietly laugh now, wondering how in the world she got a son like this.
luke ran over and hugged his mother. he stood with her in his arms for a minuet, waiting until he felt her grin against his chest before letting go. "okay, i guess this is it. i'm gonna get arrested."
"okay, luke-"
"try not to miss me too much," luke whispered, wiping a fake tear from his cheek.
"luke, i get the point-"
pop!
luke smiled at liz. "my toast."
liz grinned, getting the butter out for her son. she also took out a plastic knife and plate, handing it to luke. he threw them onto the plate, nearly hitting lizs head. "geez, those were hot," luke gaped.
liz furrowed her eyebrows. "wimp. hurry up and eat so you can fix that rats nest of hair you have."
liz walked back into her room and luke scarfed down his breakfast. he ran back upstairs, spending a good ten minuets on perfecting his hair. he grabbed a grey beanie and threw it on top of his head.
he met liz at the door, hugging her goodbye, and then walking towards his car.

when he arrived at school, he parked his car and began walking inside. he saw a girl, danny was her name maybe? she was struggling to get inside the building. she had a lot of papers in her hand and couldn't seem to get the door open. luke ran towards her, but just as he arrived she dropped all her things. her coffee spilt, along with a lot of papers.
"crud, sorry," she mumbled. "you can go inside, i can handle this."
"no, it's cool," luke said, picking up some of the papers.
the girl cocked her eyebrows, nodding her head quickly. "okay," she said. "yeah, my friend is running a little late today and wanted me to bring in her homework for her."
luke grinned. "crappy friend, huh?"
her widened her eyes. "no, no. not like that, she's just... bad at waking up."
luke bit his lip, nodding his head. "sure, okay. i won't tell anyone, don't worry," he added with a wink.
she lightly punched his arm while smiling. "no really, she's great."
