why was luke so upset?

they just began to actually talk, and phoebe was still a little hurt by what happened with the text message. it was stupid, but it still made her have doubts.

and luke doesn't have to know all phoebe's personal business. when and if she's ready, she'll tell luke what she wants to tell him. he won't force anything out of her.

phoebe and luke were still riding around in his little red car, the fifteen minute drive being the longest she's ever had to sit through. he didn't play any music, he didn't make any effort to talk, and it made her feel guilty.

when they pulled into luke's driveway, luke unstrapped immediately and hopped out. phoebe huffed, letting herself out also. luke was striding into the house, leaving phoebe to assume she should follow him. as she was walking up his driveway, michael pulled in. phoebe waited for him.

luke's house was very nice, to say the least. it was light brick and a pretty big size. the yard was medium and had a nice tree towards the side. she walked in, and the inside matched the curb appeals expectations. the kitchen was nice and dark, hardwood floors following all this way into the living room and dining room.

"do you guys want anything to eat or drink?" luke asked, pulling out some apple juice, and colby jack cheese sticks. phoebe shook her head, but michael accepted.

they all went into the living room, which had a large leather couch and a cool tv set. "so," luke began, sipping from his apple juice. "any suggestions on what we should do?"

"i was thinking we should do someone we admire, it's a lot easier to find articles that are positive than negative," phoebe said.

"i disagree." michael lifted his eyebrows when phoebe turned to him. "whenever something bad happens, that's always the first thing you'd see on the news. like, you wouldn't see how a kid saved a cat from a tree before them announcing world war three was about to commence."

"he's got a point...," luke shrugged.

phoebe nodded. she was annoyed and luke was probably just disagreeing with her. "alright. then it's settled."

phoebe watched michael and luke exchange glances. "maybe we should do a positive," michael countered.

"oh, no. two beats one."

"yeah, but we're a group. and we all need to come to one answer," luke said.

phoebe swallowed hard. "okay, uh, we can do your idea. that's fine with me."

"no, i sorta wanna do a good guy now. like a hero or something." michael formed his arms in a superman pose.

"i agree with michael, but we're not doing superman for our history project," luke frowned.

"no, stop guys. now i feel bad, i didn't mean to force you to do my idea," phoebe said.

"but i want to do your idea," michael said.

"same here," luke agreed.

phoebe groaned. "alright."

phoebe and michael ate some pizza that luke ordered, and around seven michael said he probably should get home.

"yeah, me too. school tomorrow, and homework and stuff," phoebe said.

luke nodded. "see you michael."

"bye," phoebe waved.

michael thanked luke for the pizza and walked outside to his car, leaving luke and phoebe in an empty house.
