luke walked into school, already upset just because it was monday and he had to come back four more days to this place until the weekend.
he walked towards his locker, but stopped when he saw phoebe. luke walked over towards her and watched as she placed the books she needed into her backpack. as she slammed her locker, luke slided beside her and smiled. "happy monday!" he cheered with fake giddy.
phoebe only looked at luke, keeping eye contact and she slammed her locker shut. she turned on her heels to walk towards her class, but luke grabbed her arm. "woah, what? are you okay?"
phoebe pulled her bag up on her shoulder. "yeah luke, i'm great." she turned around again and tried to walk away but luke ran up in front of her, blocking her path.
"move luke, i'm gonna be late," phoebe said with no emotion, trying her best to ignore luke's stare.
"you have seven minuets until the bell rings, you'll be fine," luke assured. "what's wrong? you didn't text me back yesterday and now you're acting different and mad at me."
phoebe looked up at look, an angry look now plastered on her face. "you don't know me at all, luke. don't try and act like you do. just leave me alone."
luke backed up a little. "don't you remember, though? that's was the reason i got your number- so we could get to know each other."
"is it? or is it just so you could get danny's number through me?" phoebe said coldly, and luke understood.
"oh, geez. phoebe, i didn't mean it like that-"
"what do you mean? you literally asked for my best friends number two hours after you got mine. i mean, you couldn't at least waited like a week," she nearly laughed.
"i didn't mean it like that! i was just asking, i don't know," luke sighed. " i do know that i want to get to know you."
phoebe looked away from luke. "no you don't," she mumbled.
"yes i do," luke said honestly, trying to sound as convincing as he could.
"no luke, you don't. right now you may, but not after...nevermind," she shook her head.
"yes i do, and i will, phebs. don't doubt it," luke said, but phoebe kept shaking her head. luke sighed over-dramatically. "i guess i'll just have to prove it. now get to class."
phoebe looked up and still shook her head.

luke walked into his history class, throwing his bag down and sitting down. there was only one other person in the class, since luke's previous class was in the room next door. he watched as other people filed in the room, making their way to fill the empty seats. he saw a face and his stomach turned immediately. how did i not know phoebe was in this class? he thought to himself.
luke waved towards phoebe, but she didn't return it. she looked around and saw calum walk in, probably assuming it was mean for him. luke frowned.
luke understood why he didn't notice phoebe- she sat in the very back corner and luke was up in the front. he felt a slap on his back and turned his head to see calum. "sup bud."
"hey calum," luke greeted just as the bell rang.
"alright class, settle down please. take your seats," mr. porter, the history teacher, said.
"i'm returning last mondays test, and then i have some exciting news."
fifteen minutes and one passing grade for luke later, mr.porter was at the front of the room. "you all did fairly well, considering that was a very difficult test. the class average was a seventy six, not bad at all. but please congratulate miss phoebe, since she got only one question wrong and the highest score in all the grade," mr. porter said proudly.
