"Please try and make an effort to be nice to them?" My mother questioned me.
"No promises." I assure her.
"Brynn." She says now frustrated while giving me a death glare. I give her a shrug and continue packing.
"Thing is, I DONT want to move away from Florida! My friends are here!"
"I understand that but you will make new friends in California and you will like it there so much better. We will finally have a family again." She says softly.
"We are fine on our own." I argue as I zip up the final bag. I carry it out side and place it in the moving van.
"Think that's everything Matt!" My mom calls out to the guy that owns the van. He gives her a quick nod and starts the engine to drive off.
"Can't believe that guy has to drive that thing all the way to California." I chuckle under my breath.
"Come on! Grab your bags and get into the car!" My mother yells to me across the yard.
I was happy that we weren't moving in the middle of the school year, then it would be to much to handle all at once, and besides I love the summer time.
I make my way to the door and pick up my two bags I get to keep on the plane. "Oooh! Can I drive?" I ask.
"Absolutely not." She says closing the trunk.
"Why not? I'm 15! I have my learners permitt." I say getting into the car.
"Because I said so." She states.
"Your no fun." I throw at her.
"Ouch!" She says pretending to be offended.

We arrive at the air port and find our plane to be seated.
"How long?" I ask my mother.
"Four hours." She states.
"Sounds fun." I say sarcastically.

We finally get off the plane after 4 long hours to find a car waiting for us.
"Where to?" The driver asks my mother.
She gives him the address and we drive off.
"Ok remember his name is Jeff." My mother tells me for the 50th time.
"How could I forget you've only told me 50 times." I say. I have only seen pictures of the guy my mother is marrying, never in person.
"He has 2 kids, GiGi and she is 17 years old and Cadence but he goes by Cade and he is 16 years old." She says.
"Yes of corse the kids." I say sarcastically.
"Brighten up." She snaps at me. "Their mother died 6 years ago in a car crash on her way to work but don't ever bring it up." She says.
"Right." I say.
"Please." She whispers. "Please be nice."
"Fine." I say and step out of the car noticing we have arrived at our destination point.
