"Look Jeff, they look so cute! I really think they are getting along!" my mother says enthusiastically.
"Misty, I wouldn't just call that getting along, I think there is more to this little getting together thing." Jeff says.
"Don't be silly, they will brother and sister tomorrow!" my mom says shocked at Jeff.
"Not by blood! You know how teenagers are, and they don't just spend time together like that unless something is going on." Jeff says angrily.
"Trust me Jeff it's nothing just be happy that they aren't fighting." My mother finishes the conversation and they both walk upstairs to their room.
"Cade wake up," I shake him.
"Why, what happened?" he tenses. Aww! His Sleepy voice is so cute!
"Ok look, as much as I want to just lay here and listen to your super sexy sleepy voice, I can't, we have bigger problems... My mom and your dad just caught us laying on this super small couch together with our bodies very extremely close." I say with out stoping to take a breath.
"Wait! you think my sleepy voice is sexy?" he says with a smirk.
"Yes." I mumble as we lean in for a kiss but then I stop him.
"No! remember! Ok,we are safe this time. My mom made Jeff believe that we were just getting along but we have to be extremely careful! I think we should have little fights here and there to keep them off their toes." I say.
He nods agreeing. "Fine then, get off me." he says. I give him a sad look.
"I'm just playing along, I love you." He says.
"I love you too." I say.
We get up and go our separate ways. Mom and Jeff are getting married tomorrow. They didn't really want to have a wedding so they are just going to the court house to do it. That's when Cade and I will officially be step brother and step sister and we will be breaking the law with our relationship which is why we have to keep a low profile only Cade's friends know.
A half an hour later I walk into Cade's room.
"Beach?" I ask.
"Yeah I was just about to ask you. Are you Ready?" he asks.
"Yeah, think so," I say.
When we get to the bottom of the stair case I see mom and Jeff in the kitchen. Where is GiGi these days?
"I don't know if I even want to go to the beach with you," I say trying to make it obvious that I was arguing with Cade.
"Fine, don't go," he plays along.
"Aww, what happened? You two were getting along so well this morning." my mom says.
"Well Cade says that his friends aren't my friends too when they clearly are!" I turn to him and shout.
"Uh, I've known them longer, therefore they are my friends." he says.
"Just take me to see MY friends!" I say.
"My friends." he says as we walk out the door.
"Mine," I say one last time as the door closes.
When we get into the truck we both just start cracking up.
"They are OUR friends not just mine," he says.
"Of course! I wonder what they are thinking, I say out loud.
"I can see Dad coming up to me later "Cade you need to be nicer to your future sister"." Cade says imitating his father.
When then just talk about future things and how we are going to keep up this Love-Hate relationship on our way.
