A Different Kind of Brotherly Love

Chapter 8

The next morning I wake up and I find that Cade left my bed.

I woke up still in my tank top and shorts I had put on the night before. I strolled down stairs to find my mother and Jeff standing in the kitchen talking.

"Good morning Brynn! Did you sleep ok?" Mom asks.

"The best I have in years." I say thinking about being wrapped in Cade's arms.

"Well that's great and I hope you don't have any plans for tonight because, we are going out for a family dinner." My mom says.

"Family dinner? That's a little weird." I giggle.

"Well we just think that we all should just spend time together as a new family. And be ready by 5 that's when we are leaving." She says.

"Whatever." I say walking back up stairs.

I walk into Cade's room to see him dressed in a Hollister shirt and khakis. He has his keys in his hands.

"Hey go get dressed." He says.

"Why?" I question giving a little giggle.

"Because I'm taking you somewhere." He says grabbing my hips and kissing me lightly on the lips.

"Ok i'll be down In 5." I say leaving.

I decide on wearing a plain white shirt with a peace sign on the front and jean shorts.

After I change I brush my hair and teeth then head down stairs to Cade's truck.

"Hey." I say climbing in. "Where are we going?" I ask.

"It's a secret." He says keeping his eyes on the road.

"Meanie!" I pout.

He smirks and just continues to drive on.

A few minutes later I decide to question him again.

"Are we almost there it's been like 20 minutes." I say getting bored.

"Brynn, it's been 5 minutes and yes we are here." He says.

I look out the window to see a TCBY sign.

"Cade! Ice cream?!? For breakfast!?!" I scream.

"Yup." He says as we park.

We get out and walk in hand in hand. Cade orders chocolate ice cream with almonds and I order vanilla with cookie dough. We get our ice cream and sit in a booth.

"So, why did you bring me here?" I ask shoveling my ice cream into my mouth.

"Well, I just wanted alone time." He says scooping up almonds and stuffing them in his mouth.

"Aww, your a dork." I say now getting a surprised face.

"Well then, your dating a dork." He says.

"I guess I am." I say. He then leans across the table and gives me a peck on the lips.

"Let's go," he says as we both Finnish our ice cream.

"That was great, thanks for taking me out for ice cream." I say as we walk out of TCBY.

"Anything for you." He says as we stop and he turns towards me a pecks me on the lips.

We then get in his truck and head back home. When we get there it's 11 am and I still have a lot of time to spare before getting ready for tonight.

About 30 minutes after Cade and I got back I decided to make my way up to Cade's room.

I walk in and make sure to lock the door behind me. I then walk over to his bed and plop down beside him where he is laying. I lay my head on his chest and hear his heart beat which is fast and loud.
