I went to my room as soon as I reached home and laid down on my bed for a few minutes thinking about all that had happened at school today when I heard a knock on my door.
"Everything okay honey?" My mom asked holding a tray of biscuits in her hand. I got up upon seeing her and smiled.
She came closer and sat beside me on my bed. "Absolutely mom, what could possibly go wrong? I'm just tired." I yawned before grabbing a biscuit from the tray.
"Well if you say so." She gave me a hug leaving the tray on my bed.
Before she could leave I told her about how a friend would be joining Kate and I to go out. She seemed delighted to hear this and smiled before leaving.
I picked out a tank top to go with some jeans and wore my shoes. It was 5:03 when I left the house and began walking towards the park. It felt nice to finally be free after a long time. It took me 15 minutes to reach and when I got there I saw Kate and Lyra sitting by the fountain waiting for me. Kate wore a short pink dress and her hair was tied up in a high bun with a few strands let loose across her face while Lyra wore a black crop top with a pair of loose jeans.
I ran towards them shouting and waving my hand."Guys!!! I'm here." I stopped in front of them panting trying to catch my breath.
"Took you long enough." Kate said folding her arms.
I could see Lyra giggling. I didn't have anything to say so I just laughed with my hand at the back of my head.
There was a moment of silence before Lyra spoke.
"There's somewhere I wanna take u guys. It's a really cool place I'm sure you'll love it." She said breaking the silence from not too long ago.
She said the only way to get there was by walking and it wasn't quite far so we all agreed and followed Lyra. The first couple of minutes went by walking in between crowds and before we knew it we were walking down a spooky alleyway. It was so quiet we could hear a pin drop.
I started to get nervous looking at my surroundings.
"Uhh Lyra how long before we get there?" I asked my voice shaking. Kate noticed the fear in my voice and pulled me closer towards her.
"We're almost there why is something wrong?" She questioned looking concerned.
*Flashback*
"You like the place cupcake?" I found it just for you." He said holding my wrist ever so tightly I could barely speak.
I opened my eyes as to where I was sitting and looked around slowly only to see no one and a place so dark and scary I could hardly make out where I was.
"Oh cupcake?" He clenched his teeth holding my wrist even tighter now.

"We're here!" Lyra said shaking me from my thoughts.
I looked around and gasped at where I was. It was a street fair. There were food stalls, jewelry stalls and everything I could ever imagine. The place was decorated with lights and it was just, beautiful.
"This place is awesome." Kate exclaimed with her jaw still on the floor.
"It sure is." I agreed with her.
"I'm glad you guys liked it. I've been here a couple of times with a few friends and trust me the more you come here the better it gets." She said making us more interested than ever.
It had been an hour since we came and boy was this place good. Lyra told us about how she used to come here with her dad when she was young and this place had been so very special to her since then. Well I understood why, considering the wonderful items you could find here and the people being so kind.
Kate had gone to use the restroom so now it was just me and Lyra. That's when I thought of asking her about Tyler.
"Hey Lyra, umm there's something I need to ask you." I hesitated avoiding her stares as hard as I could.
"Sure, what's up?". She questioned curiously not avoiding my eyes even for a second.
"Nothing important, I was hoping you'd know about Tyler?" I asked answering her question with a question of my own.
"Tyler? You mean that dumbass, Carla's ex? I sure do, why do you ask?" She said with the most boring look on her face crossing her arms.
"Dumbass? I wasn't expecting he'd have quite the reputation." I laughed.
"Well all I know is he's not the guy you would wanna mess around with. Once he finds his target he doesn't let go." She said staring into my eyes sounding dramatic.
"Oh my gosh! I'm so scared." I said sarcastically before both of us let out a laugh.
"Well, he's known as the 'player' of the school for a reason. You wouldn't find him for even a second without girls sticking around him, but as far as I know he just stays on his phone and doesn't look at any of them no matter how hard they try, to get his attention. But he doesn't shove them off either, so i guess he likes it? You never know." She came closer and whispered, "rumour has it after he was dumped by Carla he slept with almost every girl in our school and he still does and that's why he ignores the 'unworthy ones' at school." She said before pulling back into her previous position.
"He's bad news." I said looking as horrified as ever after what I had just heard. But why did he come up to me today?
Before I could continue further Kate was back, "let's go, shall we?" She said smirking.
"And where were you exactly?" I asked raising an eyebrow.
Before Kate could answer Lyra broke in, "it's normal to get lost in such a big place, no worries let's just look around a bit more." She said smiling.
"Finally! Someone who gets me." Kate said putting an arm over Lyra and gazing at me in the most annoyed way possible.
"Alright, alright. My bad." I said and we all laughed.

"These bracelets are so cute. Let's get one each." Kate suggested.
"Sure Kate let this be the 100th item you purchased today." I said in a sarcastic tone.
"Oh come on Evelyn. Just one last item." She begged.
"Doesn't sound like a bad idea Evelyn. Let's get one each." Lyra insisted.
"Okay fine but this is the last." I said in a stern tone. The bracelet was silver with a heart hanging on one side with small shiny beads on the string.
After we were done visiting almost every stall we decided to head back home but before we left we exchanged numbers and then took a cab back home.
I was really exhausted by the time we got home. I went straight to lie on my bed and took my phone out when I heard a buzz.
Kate texted me saying it was really difficult to walk and we should take the school bus from tomorrow. She was right about that so i responded back with a text "See ya".
I was scrolling on my phone for about half an hour when I heard someone calling my name.
"Evelyn!" My brother shouted.
"What do you want Zack! Can't you see I'm busy?" I shouted back.
"Come downstairs to eat dinner or should I just tell mom you're not eating tonight?".
"No no no!! I'm coming." Ughhh!!!!
