Ellie's PoV

I soon woke up to the crack of daylight to the smell of pancakes for some reason.....wait this couch is comfortable.

But Carol's couch is blue. This is tan.

This isn't even my apartment.

My eyes soon opened up, remembering all the events from last night. I fell asleep to a boring movie at Mark's apartment.

I raised up and rubbed my face to help me wake-up before I turned around.

Mark smiled as he was carrying a plate over to me, "Good morning Sleepyhead. I made pancakes. Yum they smell good don't they?"

I laugh a little, "You're trying to advertise your cooking aren't you?"

"Well I'll quit when you try them."

I playfully rolled my eyes before taking the plate from his hands and into my lap. I took a bite of the pancakes before allowing myself to be surprised.

"Well this dish gets a five star rating from me. Be proud of yourself."

Mark smiled before kissing my head, "I'm glad. By the way, shift starts in three hours."

"Good," I said, "Gives me time to fully wake-up. What's next cupcakes?"

"Not until your birthday," he jokes around.

"Sir, you can stop being a serious doctor for one day. Just let that day be my birthday. Trust me there will be cake, cupcakes, ice cream, brownies, basically a cheat day."

Mark chuckles, "And a sugar addiction just waiting to form..."

I pouted some, "Come on Markie, just for one day," I said before kissing his cheek.

"Fine. One day."

----------

After we both got ready for work, we finally stepped out into the outdoors.

"Has Chicago always this cold?" I said pulling my jacket closer.

"It usually is around this time. Here," Mark took his coat off before wrapping it around my shoulders.

I look at him, "No Mark. You need it more than me."

"No I insist," Mark said kissing my head.

"You got a thing for head kisses."

"Jen wouldn't let me do it. I guess I'm catching up on lost time. If you don't like it I'll st-"

"Don't you dare Greene."

----------

"You slept over at Mark's?!"

I chuckled awkwardly at Carol's reaction as I told her what happened, "Yeah. And he was a total sweetheart."

Carol soon starts to aw, "I gotta say he is adorable when he's around you. You got him whipped."

I gasp, "I do not!"

"Uhhh yes you do," Allison says putting on her jacket on, "I'll see you later. I'm gonna have some lunch before the ER gets busy."

I smile, "See you! Remember not a word."

She smiles, "My lips are sealed."

-----------

"Hey Benton, I'm gonna borrow Gant from you if that's okay?" I asked him while grabbing my next patient's file.

"He's all yours," Benton commented before walking off.

I smile at Dennis before he returned the smile, "Ready to do a tonsil removal."

"Ready as I'll ever be," Dennis sighed before I grabbed his shoulders, "You got this. I believe in you. I wouldn't have asked you if I didn't."

Dennis smiles before we walked into the operating room. We started prepping as he was talking, "Did I do that right? Up to the elbows?" He asked getting the cap and mask on.

"Correct," I said before putting the surgical mask, "Don't be nervous," I said walking into the operating room. I soon handed Dennis the scalpel to official get the surgery started.

---------

"Your black framed glasses or your current ones?" I sat in the cafeteria with Mark as I was reading this girly magazine that was on the table when I came in.

"As long as I can see, I'll be fine," Mark said sipping his coffee, "What even is this article?"

I put the magazine on the table, "You ask your significant other these questions."

"You know why?"

I shrugged, "I just figured why not."

"Okay... So what's the next question? Ask me one."

I glanced at the page, "If we got married, would your name stay the same or take the other's last name? I would take yours. It's kinda pretty."

"Hmmm Ellie Greene. Eleanor Greene. It's catchy."

I smile, "Yeah. It does. Besides don't take mine. Mark Carter sounds really unlike you. Plus, it's stupid."

Mark smiled before shaking his head, "So you want to stay the night tomorrow? Rachel's coming over to stay for the month and I thought maybe we could do a sleepover?"

"Mark Greene wanting to do a sleepover?" I joked.

"What? Jen and I had a ton back in high school. I thought we could do that, but make it more fun. Pillow fight? And the pillow talk."

I started laughing, "Do you know what pillow talk means?"

"Yeah you talk with your pillow to someone else."

I shook my head, "I'll just let that slide, but I'll come. Pick me up at five?"

Mark smiles, "How about four? I can spent a little time with you before Rachel gets here."

I smiled back in return taking his hand, "Count me in."
