Mark and I hilariously screamed as we ran across the streets to the ER through the snow, "Mark! My God, it is cold!"

"It must be below with the wind chill."

"I ain't used to this yet."

"I know right!" Mark smiled before running through the ER doors.

I sighed a breath in relief as I looked at the waiting room to see the patients, "Place is dead."

Mark looked at the guy in the hallway, "Well, this guy certainly is," he said before pulling the sheet over the body.

We walked to the front desk before Mark spoke up, "Randi, you know we got a DB in the hall?"

"The morgue's slow. I put him near the door to keep cool. "

"Good thinking," Mark said while hanging his coat up before helping me take mine off.

"Is it really this quiet?" I asked around.

"Not a single patient."

"It's too cold to be sick."

Mark smiled, "I guess I'm gonna have time to work on my curriculum vitae."

I laugh, "I'm sorry what?"

"It's a fancy word for r Ásum Á. I've got tenure review this week.

I smile at him, "That's great! Why didn't you tell me?"

"I wanted to surprise you, and surprise!"

I smiled before I grabbed him into a big tight hug which he returned before a nurse came over, "Dr. Greene? Legal sent you this letter and charts to be signed.

Mark took the letter before opening it up, "They're writing me up for not co-signing charts."

"What?" I asked looking at the note, "That's dumb. I assume it'll hurt your chances."

"Big time," he said grabbing a chart.

I sat down, "Who's your competition?"

"You know her she's around 5'4, red hair, with a limp."

I sighed, "Weaver," If you know anything about Kerry Weaver, she will not go down without a fight to prove her position. She really should have been a lawyer.

Mark and I was speed walking down the hall as we finally got a patient.

Mark gets into his serious doctor mode, "Alright Ellie, who's our first lucky customer?"
