"You really not coming so we can talk about what happened last night?"
"Nah... I'm straight on that. I'm already back in Denver." Psalm replies as he blows the smoke from his lips. "Ima hit up Kataya when I'm ready to talk."
"Bro, don't get to acting like this again." Saint sighs out on the other side of the phone. "You wanted to be with the same woman again, now that a disagreement comes up you shutting the both of us out."
"The conversation I need to have with my woman I don't really need you there for."
"Apparently you two muthafuckas do. All y'all do is go back and forth until somebody get tired."
"Then let us do that." Psalm says before hanging up the phone on Saint.
Psalm hangs his head low and tosses the phone into the cup holder of her car. There wasn't much he had to say to Saint. He wasn't as upset with his brother as Saint was assuming, Psalm was more upset with Kataya because he thought they had something deeper. Hearing her agree to move in with Saint without evening mentioning the topic to him, hurt his feelings more than he wanted to admit.
Shaking away any ill feelings he had at the moment to the back of his mind, Psalm grabs his black bomber coat and exits his vehicle. The Denver cold made him shiver as soon as he left the warmness and heated seats. He walks with his head held high and the swagger that everyone loved about him, exuding confidence although he felt anything other than confident at the moment. Once he's inside the cafe, he orders a hot chocolate since caffine was off limits when he wasn't working and removes his coat as he begins to sip at his drink.
"Sorry, I'm late."
Psalm nods and sits up straight in the wooden chair once the one across from him became occupied.
"It's fine. I just got settled in here..."
"Good." She nods as she taps her fingers agaisnt the table anxiously. Psalm watches from across from her, waiting for her to tell him why she had requested to meet him in private this morning. Psalm knew in the back of his mind he shouldn't be there, he knew he should be at his mothers home working things out with Kataya. But just like Kataya had a hold on him now, Priya's hold was still there stronger than he liked it to be at this point in their breakup.
The silence steadily building between the two of them was louder than the chatter of the other patrons. Psalm clears his throat and continues to look over at Priya, who had grown more beautiful since their breakup.
"Still not doing the caffeine while not working?" Priya says while pointing to his cup.
"Oh... nah. Tryna keep it as clean as I can when I'm not on the clock." He chuckles. "So... you wanted to talk?"
"Yeah." Priya nods and shifts in her seat. "I didn't think you were going to come after our little run in back at your moms. Kataya seemed really upset, I hope I didn't cause any of that."
