Chapter 18.

Giovanni Perez's pov

Six days without seeing Zoe or hearing her voice , I have to admit,I missed her. Every part of her, her scent, her face , and her body, she really has a nice body. I really feel the urge of touching her, every inch, kiss those soft lips, and her neck.
I sighed. really loud. and scolded myself for thinking about Zoe in a sexual way.

We had recovered from our injuries and we had started our search for Clifford and his men. I went to the living room and joined Leo and Tony. That's when my phone rang, Zoe was calling, speaking of the devil or more like thinking of the devil.
I received it and,
"Perez..Pere...Perez, where the fuck are you, come home please I need you"
"Zoe what's wrong?" I tried asking but she already hung up.
Leo and Tony looked at me with concern written all over their faces.
"What's wrong, is Zoe okay?" Leo asked
I shook my head no. " She sounded really scared and she was crying, we need to go back to Italy today" I said
" but Clifford is nowh-" Tony started and I cut him short.
" we will deal with that later, but now we need to go to Italy, Zoe didn't sound well on the phone." And with that, we are on our private plane landing in Italy after some couple of hours.
What happened Zoe, why do you sound so alarmed ? alot of questions were Crossing my mind.
The moment we landed ,I took my car and drove as fast as I can.
We arrived at home and found my three bodyguards shot and they were dead. This made me panick.
"Zoe!" I shouted I looked in the kitchen , no Zoe, I run up the stairs to her room and it was locked. I Knocked at it loudly.
"Zoe, are you in there, it's me Perez, open the door!"
The door flew open and I was met with a hug. She hugged me so tightly like she was afraid she lost me, or she was afraid that I was not going to show up. She was crying and I tried calming her down first.
"I am glad you are here," She said. I rubbed her back, and I led her towards the bed.
"It's okay, I am here now, nothing is going to happen." I said
She could not talk because of the state she was in, she was shocked, so I tucked her in her bed and I was about to go out when I heard her speak " Don't leave yet, will you hold me till I fall asleep?" She asked softly.
"Yes I will, come here," We lay on the bed her head on my chest as I caressed her hair.
What happened Zoe? I hope tomorrow you will be able to speak. I laid with her until she fell asleep.

"Did she tell you what happened?" Leo asked
"No not yet, she is shocked, I'll wait until tomorrow when she has already calmed down. Who could have entered our house and kill my guards, The security footage is clear , no signs of entry, meaning the person who entered was smart enough not to leave any traces behind."I said.
"We'll have to wait for Zoe to wake up ,she is the only one who saw this guy, or heard him or her entering. So far we can't do anything " Tony added and Leo nodded .
I called some of my men from our territories to guard the house.
I slept in Zoe's room watching over her until she woke up.
"Perez?" She called out.
"I am here , Zoe", I hugged her and caressed her cheeks" go take a shower and I'll wait for you downstairs alright?"
She nodded.
