MAIA SAT UP IN BED, rubbing her eyes as she heard a quiet knock. Before she could even stand up to get the door, Jason's head peeked into the room.

"Maia," he whispered. "Can I come in?"

She should've said no, not wanting to risk getting yelled at by an angry satyr, but the tired look on his face made her immediately soften. She pulled up her blanket, leaving a spot open next to her. Jason smiled slightly, closing the door as quietly as possible and immediately throwing himself on the bed.

"Jason." Maia laughed slightly as he wrapped his arms around her middle, burying his face in her neck. "Calm down."

"My love." He said quietly, "I'm so tired."

"I can imagine," Maia said, running her hand through his hair.

"I didn't wake you, did I?"

"Not really, I wasn't getting much sleep anyway. Kinda hard to, when you're worrying about monster attacks every second."

Jason made a sound of agreement. "The closer we get to the ancient lands, the worse it becomes."

"Does that scare you?" Maia questioned.

"Of course it does," he confessed. "More than I want to admit."

Maia smiled slightly, pushing his head back so he could look at her. "It's okay to be afraid, Jason. We can be scared together."

Jason laughed at that. "Together. I like that." He smiled at her. "I love that. I love you."

"Smooth, Grace." Maia laughed, hoping he couldn't see how red she'd gotten.

"Say it back." he frowned.

"It back." Maia raised an eyebrow.

"Oh you're so funny." Jason deadpanned.

"You still love me." She countered.

"I won't deny that." Jason said.

"I love you too, Jason." Maia told him, loving the way his eyes sparkled slightly under the dim moonlight that streamed into her cabin.

The son of Jupiter wound his arms around her tighter, flipping them over so that she was laying on him. "I'll love you forever," he told her.

"That's a long time."

"You're worth it." he smiled at her, the scar on his lip almost disappearing.

"Worth getting caught by Coach Hedge again?" She teased.

"I'd get grounded by him ten times over if I could hear you tell me you love me again."

Maia smiled brightly at him, giggling at the look he gave her. "I love you, Jason." she said softly.

"Gods," Jason said, "you're so cute."

"We're getting out of this whole mess together, aren't we?"

"Of course we are." Jason said, "After everything we've been through? There's no way I'm letting anything happen to us."

"How'd I get so lucky with you?" Maia asked, "I'm literally never this lucky."

"I think I'm the lucky one here," Jason said, grinning at her. "You're like my personal lucky charm."

"I think I'm like the opposite, actually." Maia said.

"I mean, it makes for some pretty cool powers, though. Besides, I think it's cool you're not like the rest of your siblings." Jason said.

"Yeah?"

"Yeah." Jason said sleepily. "Makes you even more special. Specialer."

"I don't think that's a word." Maia said softly.
