It had been a few days since Henry's train had been boarded up. Since the railway was now one train short, more work had been given to Y/N, Gordon, Edward, and Thomas.

But on the plus side, Y/N was getting to know Emily better. Emily was visiting Sodor for a few months to help her aunt recover from hip surgery. Emily had an occasional habit of being cranky, bossy, rebellious and sometimes rude to others. But besides that, she's kind, caring, helpful, mature, compassionate and always sensitive to the feelings of others. If she wrongs someone, knowingly or not, she is quick to apologize.

Today, Y/N had quite a number of things to do. He had to deliver a good train, and passenger train, and then the mail train. The extra amount of work and the change in his regular schedule of just goods trains made Y/N cross. He didn't like changes. He always likes to do things by routine.

"Bother that Henry! Because he was afraid of rain, we are getting punished for it! This isn't good. I'm not use to this new schedule. What if I get lost? And now I've got to pull a passenger train." Y/N said upset as he was with Edward at Knapford station. He was nervous about pulling a passenger train. He had never done it before.

"Don't be too hard on him. I'm sure Henry feels just as upset as you. Besides, I'm sure you'll be fine. You've delivered goods trains before. You know the routes. Pulling a passenger train is like pulling a goods train." Edward said to Y/N.

"But...but...but. Oh." Y/N said. He had no good response that he could think of. Soon Edward headed off with his passenger train, and Y/N set off with his goods train.

*Y/N's train travels over a bridge and then arrives at the harbor.*

Y/N made his way to the harbor where he delivered crates of ice to keep freshly caught fish in so they could stay fresh and cold.

*Y/N then travels down to the country side*

Next he had to deliver bee hives and planting seeds to the farmers.

*Y/N then travels down to the iron works*

Next he dropped off old metal to be melted down and then made into something useful.

Now it was time for Y/N to deliver a passenger train for the very first time.

*Y/N arrived at Knapford station*

"Oh dear. What am I going to do? I've never had to deliver passengers before." Y/N said nervously to himself as Thomas shunted him his coaches. Gordon was there as well.

"Delivering passengers is nothing like delivering goods. You must be gentle when doing it. You can't be slow about it either. The passengers need to get to their location on time. It's of upmost importance that you deliver your passengers on time. Otherwise they'll get upset and get angry at you for it, and say what a bad railway this is. Now watch me and I'll show you how fast you must go." Gordon said as he took off with his passenger train and disappeared from Y/N's sight.

"Oh dear. I don't think I can go that fast. I've never gone that fast before." Y/N said nervously. Thomas chuffed up right beside him.

"Don't worry, Y/N. I think you'll be grand." Thomas said to Y/N. Still, it didn't calm Y/N down as he chuffed off.

*Y/N chuffed down the main line and passed the country side.*

Y/N was going quickly but not to fast to where he was shaking them.

"I mustn't be late. But I don't wanna shake up my passengers." Y/N said. He continued to make his way down to Crovan's Gate to deliver his passengers.

As Y/N traveled down, he noticed someone up in the distance.

"Who could that be?" Y/N asked as he looked at the person. He the realized that it was Emily. He knew he didn't wanna get his passengers late, but it looked like Emily was in trouble. So he slowed down and stopped where she was.

"Oh Y/N! It's good to see you again. Listen, I'm sorry if this is in convenient, but may I hitch a ride with you? I'm sorry, but my car overheated and broke down. I can't get it to work. Can you please let me ride with you?" Emily said to Y/N frantically. Y/N looked and saw the steaming car.

"Well...Emily? Here's the thing." Y/N said nervously and rubbed his hands. Y/N thought for a moment and made a decision. He wanted his passengers to get to their destination on time, but he couldn't just leave Emily.

"Alright. Hop on in." Y/N said to her. He opened the door to his cab and let her in. Once she was inside, Y/N started up again and headed off.

As they traveled, they had to stop as the rails were switched to let Gordon pass. Y/N gulped nervously and got anxious.

"Don't worry Y/N. Don't panic. I'm sure he'll pass through soon." Emily said. Sure enough, Gordon did after a few seconds. The rails were switched and Y/N started up again.

Then there was trouble. An old water tower had fallen over and was blocking Y/N's way to Crovan's Gate.

*Y/N arrives at the water tower and has a look of shock on his face*

"What happened!" Y/N panicked.

"The water tower broke. It just happened. Right about a few minutes ago." A man told him. This was gonna set Y/N back a bit, time wise.

With no other choice, Y/N went back and had to find another way to get to Crovan's Gate.

"Oh dear! The passengers will be late now!" Y/N panicked as he drove back. He wasn't sure where to go now. After doing a little map looking, Y/N set off down another line. He passed a cow farm, a lake, a river bank, and then a forest.

Soon, Y/N arrived at Crovan's Gate.

"Oh! I'm sure hope I'm not late!" Y/N said nervously.

"Don't worry too much about it. I'm sure you did just fine." Emily said as passengers exited his train. Sir Topham Hatt was also at the station. Y/N gulped nervously as he feared the worst. The passengers said a few things to Sir Topham Hatt.

"Maybe they are saying good things?" Emily said now a little nervous herself. Soon, Sir Topham Hatt approached and looked at Y/N sternly. He pointed to the clock. Sure enough, Y/N was a few minutes late. Emily couldn't help but feel a little guilty now. She felt like she inadvertently caused Y/N to run late. She figured if she hadn't overheated the car, then she wouldn't have had to ask Y/N for help and cause him to be late.

"Y/N?" Sir Topham Hatt said.

"It's not his fault! My car overheated and I asked him for a ride. I'm the one who caused him to run late sir." Emily said to defend Y/N. Sir Topham Hatt just chuckled.

"Exactly. It's not anyones fault. Running late is just something that happens. And I'm proud that Y/N stopped to help you. And even though Y/N ran into a problem, he still pushed forward to get his job done. And I'm proud of him for that." Sir Topham Hatt said with a smile.

Y/N took a breath of relief. So did Emily. Emily looked at Y/N, and kissed him on the cheek for helping her.
