64) Nasi Kangkang (Dark Magic)

Back in 2017 when i was a student, something happened to a friend of mine who was also my senior at the university. Let's call him Luqman. Here's some details about Luqman; he is one of the most soft-spoken guy i know. He does not get angry easily. In fact, he is a very jovial guy. Luqman has a long time girlfriend whom we all know. Let's call her Nora.

They had been dating for a very long time and shortly after they graduated, they got engaged. They were both my seniors by 2 years of age gap. After graduating, Luqman got a very good job and started saving up for their wedding. Luqman loves Nora a lot. I have never seen a couple more in love than them (this info might be relevant later).

Another relevant info; Luqman is pretty well-off. He lived in a mansion, at a gated community by the seaside. He got his own car too. He's like your typical rich guy. We're all very close to Luqman. Even though he had graduated, we would always find time to meet up for lunch and just keep ourselves updated with each other.

One day, Luqman brought this up at the meeting,

"They hired a new girl at the office."

Then one of the guys randomly searched her up and they were saying things like;

"She's pretty and she's single etc."

"I hardly ever notice her in the office anyways." Luqman replied.

A month goes by and we met up again for lunch. During this meeting, we saw that Luqman looked really tired.

"I hardly get any sleep because i have been having nightmares." he explained.

He didn't elaborate and we too didn't question him further. 3 weeks later, we met up again and we saw that Luqman's eyebags were very heavy. One of the guys nudged his arm and said jokingly,

"Why are you like the walking dead?"

Luqman actually snapped at him and the whole group was stunned because we all know that he has always been well-mannered before that incident.

He then apologized and explained that he's on the edge of a recent nightmare. So i decided to ask him about the nightmares because it's been close to 2 months since he mentioned them. I wasn't ready for the answer. He explained,

"I would have the same recurring dream of a woman, dressed in a long white dress, with long hair, standing at the foot of my bed, screaming at me. Not screaming words, just blood-curdling screams."

Sometimes he would wake up from those dreams and sometimes he would just experience paralysis where he's unable to move or wake up. Of course we were all freaked out by that!

"Did you update your fiancee Nora?" we asked curiously.

"Nope, i did not tell her as i do not want to scare her." he replied.

We then dropped the topic. 2 weeks later we met up again and this time, we saw that Luqman brought a packed lunch along with him. So we teased him,

"Wah, you're lucky to have Nora to always make you free lunch." as we knew they were engaged.

"Err.. no. This was made by my new colleague." he said.

"Huh? Why though? Why is she giving you a packed lunch?" we all wondered.

"Hmm... i think she's just being nice. I'm pretty tired from work so i guess this is her way to cheer me up. Don't think too much about it guys."

We were all shocked but since he didn't put much attention to it, we just brushed it off. A couple of months passed and we had barely meet each other because we were all busy with our own schedules. One fine day, when i was hanging out with the girls, we decided to open the topic about Luqman. We stalked his profile and suddenly, one of the girls just gasped and said,
