Milo's POV:

I sat on the couch trying to adjust my posture so I wouldn't feel pain. It's difficult sitting after the surgery. It constantly feels like the knife is still stabbing me, the doctors said it's phantom tail. No clue when it'll stop. I looked at the seat beside me, seeing how much the cushion sunk in. That must be Archer's chair. Speak of the devil, Archer walked over, handing me tea I asked him to make, plopping down on the sunken cushion. "Thank you..." I mumbled. He nodded taking a sip of his coffee. I took a sip setting the cup on my lap, "I know you spiked your coffee." I said looking at the television. I felt his eyes look at me. "Excuse me..?" I nodded, "I noticed at work, you spike your coffee every day, just so you can tolerate people." He groaned setting the mug on the coffee table. "I'm not much of a people person." He said leaning back, "Why are you married then?" I asked. He groaned, "Is this what you're going to do? The whole time you're here, you're going to bother me?" I looked at him, "Archer. All I want to do is be at home, with my dog." He sighed, "Well thanks to your mother, that isn't going to happen." "Can you go get duke?" I asked. He shook his head, "I am not letting that dog in my house. He's huge, and I'm afraid he'll crush Archie." "I see you care about your child for once, but I believe you should have started caring when Lottie was still young, hm? Maybe then she wouldn't be, forgive me for my language, an escort." He stared at me, "And what's that supposed to mean?" I chuckled, "Use a dictionary, Reed." He groaned, "I'm not pulling out a heavy-ass book, just to find out the meaning of a word." "Suit yourself," I said taking a sip of my tea. "Why are you acting like you're better than me?" He said staring. I chuckled, "Archer...Come on. Even in my horrible conditions, I still dress and look decent. While...You've let yourself go. Your bread is getting out of control, your hair is a mess, and...When was the last time you showered?" I said sniffing the air. He groaned, "That's a mix of Lottie, and her lust candles, not me. Why don't you mind your own business and focus on yourself, it's your own fault you're in this mess, so quit fucking with me." He said aggressively. I sat there staring at the floor. We sat in silence for a while. He chuckled, "Cat's got your tongue?" I kept looking at the floor, feeling my eyes burning. I felt his eyes go towards me, "Hey, Milo...I was just frustrated...You know that right..?" He nervously laughed. I felt tears flow down my cheek. "I'm sorry..." I said covering my eyes with my gloves. I sat there sobbing, feeling so weak at that moment. "I...Just can't believe this happened..." I felt Archer get up, making me move my gloves to see him. He picked up his car keys and looked at me. "Duke is in the bedroom, yeah?" I slowly nodded. He nodded walking past me, ruffling my hair before he left. I heard the door shut and before I knew it, the car was down the road already. I leaned over setting the teacup on the coffee table. Hearing footsteps I looked over, seeing Y/N, making me tense up. They smiled nervously, waving toward me. It's...Kind of awkward being here with Y/N. I guess after, the thing happened, things haven't been the same. They walked over. "Do you, mind if I sit next to you?" I shrugged, "It's...Your house." They smiled sitting down where Archer sat, only Y/N was facing me. Their smile left when they looked at my face. I watched their hands come towards my face, making me panic. I felt their soft hands touch my face, making me panic even more. My face is burning. "Were...You crying?" They asked concerned. I shook my head. They clicked their tongue, wiping my tears. "I think you're a liar." They teased. I sighed taking their hands, taking them off my face. "Y/n...Angel..." They looked at me confused. I sighed, "I'm...Really sorry you have to put up with me here...I didn't want to intrude...And I feel horrible for messing with Archer and your relationship even more." They shook their head, "Milo...I asked you if we...You didn't...You could have..." They went silent, our hands still touching. "I apologize for my actions..." I said nervously. "Milo I-" just then, Archer opened the door, Duke on his leash. He looked at Y/N and me holding hands, and I could sense he wasn't happy. I quickly let go, Y/N getting up. "Is this what we're doing?" I heard Archer's tone coated with anger. "Didn't you learn your lesson last time, Harrison?" Y/N looked at me then Archer. "What do you mean..?" Y/N said. "I bring your dog here for you because I actually felt bad for you, and you're trying to get with my partner again?" He said. I shook my head, "N-No Archer- that isn't" He dropped Duke's leash, and Duke ran towards me, wagging his tail, The front door slammed, causing us all to jump, Archer storming down the hallway. I took a deep breath, petting Duke. He got on the couch with me, regarding Archer's many warnings that he wasn't allowed on the couch, and sat next to me. I hugged Duke, feeling myself weep again. I'm so sorry, buddy... I wanted to be with you... I promise I'll never leave again... I heard Y/N walk away slowly, their boots clicking the floor. I heard knocking on a door, and Archer refused to open up, once again. I assume Y/N gave up and went to check on Archie. Why does everything get so bad when I'm around..?
