Milo's POV:
I watched Ms. Angela type away on the computer. "We can't tell anyone about this yet though..." I said looking at her. "I just told my mother." She said nervously. "And she told my family." "And I told many many people." Archer said, chuckling. I looked at Archer surprised, "When did you." I sighed, "It's fine. As long as my mother doesn't know." I felt my phone vibrate in my pocket, "Speak of the devil..." I sighed pulling out my phone. "I'm sorry." Ms. Angela mouthed, making me chuckle a bit. "Hello?" I said towards the phone. "Good morning, Bubbala. Did you get enough sleep?" She asked in a sweet voice. I chuckled, "Yes, Mama...I had a great sleep." I looked over at Ms. Angela smiling, making her look away embarrassed. "The Clings came over to tell me their daughter was getting married. After I gave them my Mazel tov, they informed me that you were getting married to her. Why didn't you tell me you were seeing such a wonderful woman?" Her voice sounded angry, possibly because I hadn't gotten into contact with her for a while, and now I was getting married off. "Are you going to answer me, boy?" My mother said. Sending all day with truckers must have changed her accent, along with her whole way of speaking. "I've got to go into a meeting, mama. I love you." I said hanging up. I handed my phone to Archer. "If she calls again, can you keep her busy? Without. Having an out-of-wedlock child?" I said staring at him. "That out-of-wed-lock child is one of the best things that had happened to the organization." He said, his eyebrows furrowed. "Why is that? Because Melissa gets to be around more often?" I said staring. He shook his head, walking towards his office. "You wouldn't understand." Ms. Angela looked at me smiling, "Your mother is going to have a fit..." She said changing the subject. I smiled, "The worst thing she can do is fly all the way out here. Don't worry about it." she smiled looking back at her computer, "I'll talk to you later. I've got a meeting." I nodded, walking over and kissing her cheek. "I love you." She smiled looking at me, "I love you more." I waved before leaving the room. Archer was in his office. I walked over and knocked on the door. "You can come in." He called out. "It's Milo." Archer was silent for a moment. "Who else is going to knock at my door?" Archer questioned. I opened the door and walked in, sitting down. "What's up, Harrison? You already have me in great debt to my spouse." Archer said. I paused, "Debt?" He nodded, "We had a bet if you'd get with Ms. Angela or not...I would be severely broke if we didn't have a shared bank account." I sighed shaking my head, "I wanted to ask you about marriage." "I'm not interested, Milo. I've already got a ring on it." He smirked, teasing. I sighed looking at him, slightly feeling a smile on my face, "As if I'd marry you." I shook my head, "You've been married for maybe four years now. Do you...ever regret it?" He looked at me, his smirk gone. Archer sighed looking out the window. "Sometimes." He finally said. I looked at him surprised. "Not like, Y/N is horrible. No. I love them. I just. Sometimes regret coming into their life and messing with what they were used to... you know?" He sighed. I slowly nodded. "But, you don't have to worry about that, okay?" He smiled. "But what if." I was interrupted by an alarm on my watch. "Oh! I need to take my medicine." I reached into my pocket and pulled out one of those dose weekly pill organizers. Archer's face frowned, "Last time you needed only two pills per day...You have maybe eight in your hand...Did your health become worse?" I smiled, "Well, no one said living with replaced organs and a prosthetic spine would be easy." I took a cup from Archer's water dispenser and took the pills. "We shouldn't talk about sad things like this." I smiled. Archer nodded slightly, "Do...You plan to move out soon?" Archer asked looking out the window. I cleared my throat. "I can't leech off you forever." He nodded. "Right. Of course." I got up, fixing my suit jacket. "I'll be home tonight though. I'll cook dinner as a thank you for letting me stay with you." I looked back at him, "...Do you really think I'll be okay in this marriage?" He stared, "Milo...Are you high?" He questioned. "Huh?" I questioned back. "High!" I smiled, "Oh. Hello." He groaned looking at his computer. "Nevermind."
Archer's POV:
It was 23:45 (11:45 Pm). I wasn't able to sleep. I was in my office, with the door wide open. Milo cooked dinner, it was something along the lines of, garlic butter steak with potatoes. I looked in the hallway, my bedroom door was shut, Lottie had moved out, once again to be with Zane, Milo had his door shut, and Archie's door was shut. He slept a lot for a toddler...which they tend to do if you feed them enough. I felt my eyes drooping downwards as I sat in my chair. I heard Milo scream, making me jolt up and out of my chair. He swung the door open and turned down the hallway, crashing towards the nearest door to the outside. I ran after him. I placed my hand on his shoulder and it spun him around. "What- Milo- what? What is happening?" Milo's eyes flashed and he reached for the handle. I followed his hand and flung the door open. A rush of cold air punched us in the face. He tried to walk out further, in his tired, half-asleep panicked brain. I forced him to sit down outside the door. "Milo, talk to me, tell me what is wrong, Mo Mhac." A quiet desperation filled my voice as I placed my hands on Milo's shoulders, holding them tightly but gently. "Can't....Breathe..." Milo gasped for breath, turning his head up to the sky."Okay, okay, just close your eyes and try to breathe with me." Milo nodded and closed his eyes. "Good, alright, ready? In.." I watched him take a shaky breath, "And out," He exhaled. "C'mon Mo Mhac, do it again. In," this time, Milo inhaled slower and less shakily. "Out," he exhaled again. "Good, now just a few more times..." I practiced this with Milo until he could breathe somewhat normally. Milo rested his hands on his chest, stroking his thumb in a circular pattern to calm himself down. I sat next to him and waited. Milo took one last deep breath in and seemed to be okay to talk. "How long was that?" he questioned. "Around 5 minutes. Why?" I questioned back. Milo sighed. "Just, wanted to know, I suppose." He shrugged, turning his head away. I wasn't convinced. "This has happened before?" I leaned forwards to look at Milo, searching his face. "No-well. yes. but. I'm not sure." He leaned back and covered his eyes with his hands, sighing. Milo dragged his hands down his face and looked down at his feet. "It's weird. Sometimes it-" he paused, "Sometimes it feels like I'm choking and I just can't breathe and everything feels too tight on my neck and I just- it just," Flashes of pain and asphyxiation (suffocation) must have rushed through his head, since breathing erratically again, hands rubbing his neck. He realized what he was doing and took another few shaky, slow breaths. He gulped. "It just makes me feel odd. I don't know." "Hm." I leaned back. "Do you think...It's from when we almost got hung for trying to steal the organization from the asshole?" Milo shifted uncomfortably. "Maybe..." I nodded. "I was the only one who nearly died...But. I suppose that the rope was still scary and worrying for you...Guess we're lucky Ms. Angela defended us, huh?" He slowly nodded, changing the subject. "I. I guess I could try this next time, though," he gestured vaguely to the two of them, sitting side by side underneath the dark sky. "And what do you mean by "this?" I asked, looking out of the corner of my eye."You know what I mean." I raised his eyebrows in response. Milo rolled his eyes and brought his knees in, resting his chin on his legs. "I mean, the breathing thing, and, I guess it helped a bit that, you know, someone was there to help," he shrugged, a bit embarrassed.I waited, letting the earth sing for a moment. I inhaled, about to say something I may regret. "You can, uh, talk to me if you ever need to, Milo." I started plainly, fiddling with my thumbs.Milo nodded and turned his head to look straight into the plains. "Sure. Will do." He sniffled. "I guess I'll uh, go to bed now." Milo rised slowly and gestured towards the door. "Oh, yes, of course." I stood. "I will be returning to my room.-" I was stopped mid-sentence because I was wrapped in a tight embrace. Milo squeezed me tight. "Thanks, Archer."The words were quiet, small, and muffled by being so close, but I heard them clear as day. I wrapped my arms around him and held him tight. The hug was awkward and a bit uncomfortable, but it was a hug. And I cherished it. We stood like that for a few moments before Milo broke away. Milo shrugged, head turned away. "Don't be weird about it, Reed. Get some sleep." I watched him walk towards his room, a mixture of fear, guilt, and happiness filling me. I took a deep breath in, and out. Deciding it was time for me to sleep.
