CHAPTER - 8 : THE DINNER

The Yagamis sat down to eat their dinner with y/n sitting on the short side of the table.

And ryuk's figure stood out like a sore eye, standing tall behind light.

The family of four were catching up

You looked at Mr yagami and said " You look quite tired Mr yagami "

"Ahh yes y/n I'm working on a tough case that's why"

"It's like trying to catch a ghost"
Mr yagami said frustrated.

" Only today the big boss said that we maybe looking for a student "

Throughout the dinner light was eating his dinner very peacefully.

Out of nowhere y/n asked " Is it true that light used to help solve your cases ? "

" Yes!! it is indeed true y/n "
Mr yagami said his face wearing a bright smile and full of pride.

" Ahh how did you kno- "

" I have my ways light " Y/n said smugly cutting him off.

While light was left with so many questions in his head you ignored his stare and continued.

" *sigh* it must have been so cool to take part in solving those cases I wish I had a chance " You said pretending to be upset.

Even though you were pretending you were genuinely interested in solving crimes cause crime and investigations were one of your interests.

" Oh go on y/n you are as smart as light I'm sure you will get your chance soon " Sayu said cheering you on.

" Don't worry y/n if we are ever in a pickle I'll make sure to ask for your help " Mr yagami said with a laugh joining Sayu.

" Maybe someday we could solve cases together y/n " light said slowly lookingat you from the side.

" Yeah....sure I hope so " You mumbled softly getting flustered now that all eyes were on you.

Light chuckled to himself softly amused by the sudden change in your behavior.

One second you speak like you know something that no one knows and the next second you act like the dumbest person in the room.

Light has always been good at reading people.

But when it comes to you, he struggles to figure you out.

He sees you as an enigma. It's infuriating because he knows you the best but also at the same time he doesn't.

But one thing is for sure he knows that you are hiding something from him and everyone.

And your innocent and careless behaviour is just a facade.

A facade that fools everyone but light could see through it. But he just couldn't figure the reason out.

Light has thought about it before. A normal high school student with simple parents but u sometimes tend to say peculiar things and have a strange perspective. Overall you are just like everyone else.

Yet he couldn't explain why he finds you so....so strange.

You are a unique puzzle and he has this urge to figure you out.
