The truth

*Lucy POV*

I've just told Skylar that she is one of the people I love most in the world. And I'm not lying. She is. She's my daughter of course I love her. It might sound weird to her though because she doesn't know that.

After the film finishes its time to start on dinner.

Keira- ill make a start on dinner. Is spaghetti bolognaise okay with you Skylar?

Skylar- yess that's my favourite

Keira- ill get started then *walks into the kitchen*

Skylar- Lucy? *confused look on her face*

Lucy- yeah?

Skylar- why did you say that you love me the most?

Lucy- because I do

Skylar- but why? You barely even know me

Lucy- okay Skye there's something I should tell you. Keira?

Keira- yeah?

Lucy- can you come here please

Keira- *walks in with Also a confused look* im here, whats up

Lucy- come sit. I'm going to tell Skylar the truth and I want you to be here

She sits down next to me and takes my hand in hers for reassurance. I do the same for Skylar.

Skylar- what truth?

Lucy- its going to be a lot for you to take in and i dont expect you to say anything just yet. but.. youre my daughter Skylar

Skylar- what? how do you know

Keira- you look exactly like each other

Lucy- i made sure that i named you. i named you Skylar so i would be able to find you in the future. i never thought i would

Skylar- you gave me up. you put me in the system my whole life. i ended up with that horrible woman because you didnt want me?

Lucy- it was never like that Skylar

Skylar- so what was it like, Lucy?

Lucy- I wanted to keep you Skylar, i never wanted to give you up, i promise, i regretted it every single day. your father took off as soon as he found out so i was on my own with no job, no financial stability and nobody to help look after you. i know its not what you want to hear but i had no choice Skylar thats why i came up to you after the game and took you to the cafe afterwards. i found you Skylar. i want you back with me, i want you to be my daughter, for us to be a family.

Skylar- well you should have thought about that before you gave me away! *pulls her hand away from Lucy's* *to Keira*can i go to my room please?

Keira- yeah of course ill show you where it is

I watch as Keira shows Skylar the way to her bedroom. I appreciate that she asked if she could leave but she didnt have to, she could have just left.

When Keira comes back down, she tries to reassure me.

Keira- she just needs time Luce, its a lot for a 14 year old girl to comprehend, she will understand why you did it, its just going to be a shock for her right now

Lucy- yeah youre right Keira, ill give her some time to think

*Skylar POV*

Lucy has just told me that shes my mom and that thats why she came up to me at the match and is fighting so hard for custody of me and why she said she loves me the most. It all makes sense to me now but my judgement is being clouded by shock and anger. im not angry at her, just the situation but i think it did come off as me being angry at her. Keira is currently carrying my bag upstairs for me and showing me to my room.
