*Lucy POV*
It's Skye's first day of training today, shes decided she's going to sit out on our training and just watch, which is totally fine, nobody is forcing her to play with us. Im so happy for her for signing to our club, it also makes things easier if we're all playing for the same club because I dont have to travel to the other side of Manchester to take her to training and then back for us to go to training.
She's so excited, I'm excited for her but she's also so impatient. A quality she gets from us.
Skylar- LUCY! Are you ready? I don't want to be late on my first fly
Lucy- IM COMING SKYE! For christ sake this child has no patience
Keira- and where do you think she gets that from?
Lucy- whatever, lets go before she bites my head off.
*in the car*
Keira- so you excited for your first day
Skylar- of course I am! Why wouldn't I be
Keira- I hope you make some friends
Lucy- she will. I just know it
*at training*
Georgia- hello Little Bronze
Skylar- hello big Stanway
Georgia- you excited for your first day?
Skylar- everyone keeps asking me that *laughs* yes im excited
Georgia- what position you signing to be?
Skylar- goalkeeper of course
Ellie- wouldn't expect anything different from you Bronzey
Skylar- Well what can I say, I learnt from the best
Georgia- I wonder who *sarcastically*
Skylar- Mary Earps of course *laughs*
Ellie- *fake shocked* how dare you
Skylar- Well it was a joint effort Roebuck, you both taught me so much
Ellie- you're gonna be the best in the team Bronzey
Lucy- don't boost her ego any more please
Keira- *laughs* she reckons she's better than Luce
Skylar- of course I am, Lucy can't play in goal for toffee
Lucy- to be fair she has a point but we don't need to tell her that *laughs*
We start training and Skye watches from the side, she watched our techniques so intently, she's always trying to better herself as a player and she has so much dedication to the game. its impressive.
Gareth comes out to get Skye to sign her contracts and get her shirt sorted in time for her training session later.
Gareth- Skylar, Lucy, can i borrow you for a second?
Skylar- of course, come on Lucy, come on Keira
Keira- me?
Skylar- yes, i want you to be with me aswell
thats so sweet of her, Skylar and Keira have such a great bond its so lovely to see. not only has Skylar adapted to having two female parenting figures, Keira has also adapted to having a child around all the time.
Gareth- have you decided what name you want on your shirt?
Skylar- i have, I would like Bronze please
Lucy- *smiles* really?
Skylar- yes, i mean after all, it is my name, right?
Lucy- of course it is
Gareth- Bronze it is. youll be playing at number 1, is that okay
Skylar- *smiles* thats Roebucks number, thats absolutely okay
Keira- shes like your best friend now isnt she?
Skylar- yes, yes she is
We get to Gareths office and sign Skylars contract and get the standard pictures of her signing and holding the shirt up and wearing the shirt, also a few extra ones with me and Keira in. im going to get this one framed.
we return to training and afterwards Skye runs straight over to Ellie, the interaction between them was the sweetest thing ive ever seen. Ellie is so good with her, i know shes pretty much 15 now so i should stop saying things like this but i dont think Skye realises just how much all of the girls actually care for her.
Skylar- Roebuck youll never guess what!
Ellie- what is it Bronzey?
Skylar- ive got your number!
Ellie- what! no way!
Skylar- yes!
Ellie- youll be replacing me soon!
Skylar- i could never!
Ellie- im so happy for you Skye *pulls Skye into a hug*
Skylar- thank you! *hugs back*
Jill- yous are cute
Skylar- thanks Jill
Jill- anytime, anyone want to grab a coffee?
Skylar- ewe
Jill- what?
Skylar- coffee is rank, also i shouldnt, i have training in half an hour
Jill- how can someone not like coffee
Skylar- its pretty simple actually. it. does. not. taste. nice.
Jill- ugh, we cant be friends Skylar *laughs* ill see yous later
Lucy- right missy, you ready for training?
Skylar- i am, i have everything i need so ill be okay
Lucy- do you want us to stay or..?
Skylar- no its okay, you can go get coffee with the girls
Lucy- alright, ill be back for when training finishes
Skylar- see you later
*After training*
Keira- how was it?
Lucy- did you enjoy it?
Skylar- i loved it! all the girls are so lovely and welcoming. and i made a new friend!
Keira- we told you you would
Skylar- yeah, her names Hannah, shes the same age as me
Lucy- awe thats great, im glad you had a good time
Keira- shall we get a takeaway for dinner?
Lucy- yess, pizza?
Skylar- i love pizza!
Keira- we know.
the rest of the night was a quiet one, Skye told us everything she had done in training and told us all about Hannah, she plays defender, is 15 years old and has been playing there for a year. we decided on watching a film because we could tell that Skye was absolutely worn out and wanted to chill out before training again tomorrow.
