Third-Person POV

August 1, 2010. To the average person, this was a day like any other. Clear skies, sun shining, birds chirping. A perfectly ordinary day.

However, to the demigod, this was not any ordinary day.

The Romans were marching onto the Greek camp, led by a power-hungry augur, Octavian. Their mission, to exterminate any and all Greek demigods.

The Greeks were readying their defense, most of them unwilling to fight other demigods, but able to, to protect themselves from the power-hungry Augur.

The Hunters and Amazons were reeling from the devastating blow Orion dealt when he outmaneuvered the both of them.

Nico di Angelo, William Solace, Cecil Markowitz, and Lou Ellen were running around the Roman camp, sabotaging equipment, and slowing down the Romans advance.

Reyna Avila Ramirez Arellano was trying to save Percy's pegasus and friend, Blackjack, after he was shot by Orion.

But nothing compared to the absolute destruction and devastation that was occurring on the other side of the world, in Greece.

Jason Grace, son of Jupiter.

Piper McLean, daughter of Aphrodite.

Leonidas "Leo" Valdez, son of Hephaestus.

Hazel Levesque, daughter of Pluto.

Frank Zhang, son of Mars.

Annabeth Chase, daughter of Athena.

Perseus "Percy" Jackson, son of Poseidon.

These seven heroes were all that stood in between the Giants and Gaia rising.

The fight started out fine, with each of the heroes holding off multiple giants, but eventually, the giants gained the upper hand.

Percy POV

"Where are the gods!?" I screamed over the raging storm that Jason and I had conjured up.

"No idea!" I heard a voice, that vaguely sounded like Frank, yell back.

Dodging another swipe from Porphyrion (he seems to have taken my tripping him as a personal insult), I rolled out of his reach. Unfortunately, I rolled right into the path of Enceladus, who whacked me with his spear, and I went sprawling.

Over the din of the storm, I vaguely heard Enceladus and Porphyrion.

"Come on, Enceladus, let us finish him, and spill his blood."

Fortunately for me, a massive elephant slammed into the both of them before they could kill me. Blinking my eyes to re-orient myself, I felt myself getting hoisted up by the said elephant, who had transformed into good old Frank.

"You good?" He asked me.

"Yea."

"Ready to get back in the fight?"

"No, but when is that ever an option."

Lifting his lips up in a small smile, we charged back into the battle.

Minutes felt like hours, as all seven of us battled the Giants, making no headway.

When it seemed like all was lost, we saw the light.
