"What do you mean?" Amelia asked, the room spinning around her. "Someone had to kill them! Right?" The officer shook his head. "We have no evidence, at all-" He was cut off. "I DON'T CARE ABOUT EVIDENCE! I WANT TO KNOW WHO KILLED MY PARENTS!" She shouted. The officer flinched. "Nobody was ever in the house besides your parents when they died. We think they committed suicide-" Amelia stormed away from the officer and ran outside. Her parents. Gone. The people she had loved so much. Tears streamed down her face, blurring her vision. She could make out some people, neighbors and relatives, surrounding her. Amelia fell to the ground, shaking her head. No, no. No! This wasn't happening. People whispered advice, extended their sympathy, but Amelia couldn't hear anything. All she could hear was the blood rushing through her head, her heart beating in a steady way. Amelia felt cold. Cold and detached. As if she was on another planet. Why was this happening to her? Why? Letters still in her hand, she threw her backpack on the ground and read the letters. "I can still go here, right?" Amelia asked anxiously. She had to go. It was such an honor, so amazing! To go to a famous national school with other geniuses! But the answer was no. No.
