"I loved her," Jason whispered, his eyes glazed. "I really did. And I will always love her." Amelia found her heart melting at this teen's devotion. She put a hand on his shoulder, not sure how to comfort him. She didn't bother saying, 'It's going to be okay', or 'You'll be fine,' because she knew that wasn't true. For emotional people, like Jason, the mourning would be tough. She told him that and he just looked up at her, tears staining his face. "I like you, you know? You're not all sappy or anything. You say it like you mean it. Thanks, Amelia." He smiled at her and hugged her. Amelia was taken by surprise. But she still hugged him back. Then she handed him her phone. "Here," she said softly. "Call the police." Jason nodded and dialed 911. Meanwhile, Amelia lay on the grass, thinking. How had Anna died? Just like her parents, no person to kill her, and in the same area; near her house. What other connections were there? Amelia didn't see any. "What are you thinking about?" Jason asked her. She looked grim. "I promise that I will not rest until I find the person responsible for not only the death of Anna Hudson, but also my parents as well. And I will stay true to that promise, no matter what." She said the solemn oath. "Me too," Jason said simply. Amelia nodded. They were a team now. But first, before they could investigate, they had stuff to do. Like contact both Jason and Anna's family and friends. And deal with the police. And come up with a plan. And more. "Excuse me? Is this the right address?" A police officer asked. Amelia groaned and got up. "Yeah," she said loosely. "Excuse me, where is the body?" The officer looked flustered. Amelia didn't turn around. "It's right behind me," she answered, rolling her eyes. The officer glared at her. "Is this some kind of prank?" He shook his head and started to walk away. Amelia sighed. "Can't you see, it's right-" She stopped dead. The body wasn't there.
