Police cars surrounded Amelia's home. Sirens wailed and officers yelled as she approached her house. "What's going on?" She asked hesitantly. The officer nearest to her shook his head. "A mighty fine tragedy, ain't it?" He spoke with a thick southern accent and had bushy eyebrows and a moustache. Amelia was confused. "What's a tragedy?" She asked, a feeling of dread overcoming her. "Where's my mom and dad?" She realized they were no where in sight. "They should be here by now," she added. The officer's eyes widened. "Aye, I've got a job to do," he said, abandoning her. Amelia knew something was wrong. There was yellow crime scene tape around her house, but Amelia had to see her parents. She was going to tell them about The Academy. She squeezed the papers in her hand as she stepped inside and gapsed. Papers were strewn everywhere. Pillows, blankets, utensils, dishes, and more cluttered the floor. Amelia spotted her mother's music box, broken and faded, on the carpeted floor. Amelia bent down and picked it up, waiting for the sound of music to burst out. Waiting for something that never came. Amelia dropped the box and searched for her parents. "Mom! Dad! I don't know what happened, but I got into The Academy! Its a national-" She stopped dead in her tracks. In her parents' bedroom she saw something she wish she had never saw. Her parents' dead bodies, still and lifeless. She swallowed the bile in her throat and gasped. How could this have happened? Amelia collapsed to the ground. "No," she moaned. This wasn't happening. No. She listened to the sound of footsteps nearing the room. An officer told her to get up. She got up and glared at him fiercely. "I want to know who killed my parents," she demanded. The officer scratched his head. "That's the thing. Nobody did."
