Cal does not know this, as he is sent for his first mission for the Order, to collect information on the increase of activity of Mandalorian Bounty Hunters outside of Mandalorian Space, that he has just changed a fundamental aspect of two people's world views.

Bruck Chun receives his next comm from his father, before being introduced to Xanatos. He states, blankly, that fear doesn't a coward make. His father looks enraged, and disappointed, and never comms him again. Bruck Chun goes on to focus more on Shien than his previously preferred Ataru, because a tall man by the name of Sifo Dyas, apparently an unnamed member of the Council, passed out in the Salles due to a vision. Bruck had called a Healer, because Oafy – Obi – Initiate Kenobi's visions had scared him as a child, one of his earliest memories of the Temple being the night he woke up to the other boy crying out for a child who walked in the sky to stop, please stop, she's dead, you've killed her, you loved her! The seer, a friend of the notoriously cold Master Dooku, had offered to teach Bruck Shien in compensation for costing him important training time before his inevitable shipment- banishment to the Corps. Bruck had gained a Master, and a father figure in Sifo Dyas, and an understanding, guiding figure in Yan Dooku, who, with Padawan Komari, slowly helped him figure out why his father hurt him so much, and how to stop him from doing the same to Kenobi.

On the other hand, with a life that changes the galaxy in every galaxy, a remarkably unremarkable boy gets sent to Bandomeer. He is brought before the Council. He despairs but does not waver as they tell him of his placement in the Agricorps Basecamp on Bandomeer. He is unflinching as they ask him to pack with no intention of return. He is already packed, having known of this outcome already, having already read through as much information on Bandomeer as he could. He receives his ticket, a chit of credits, a map, and a firm, apologetic hug from Master Yaddle, who is uncaring of the distress of her Council Members at such a display.

"A Jedi you are," she says. "A Jedi you will always be."

Obi Wan says he will follow the Force. She asks that he follows his heart. When he boards the ship bound for Bandomeer, he stops only to greet Master Qui Gon, before continuing on his way to the Freighter Class Voyager. When they fight for their lives, he sees the man again, completing his own investigation of the Hutts by hiding in the vents after hearing the Indentured Servants' stories of hard bought freedom and fear. Obi Wan doesn't stop to talk to Qui Gon after they crash, mind set firmly on Master Tyvokka's silent companionship at their table before he was sent on mission, and on Bruck's changing attitude, and on the way Senior Padawan Kestis says 'Little Brother.'

On Bandomeer, Obi Wan dreams, of his own little brother who walks in the sky that he hasn't met yet. The boy isn't dark and angry at him anymore, simply wanting, waiting. Lonely. Obi Wan wakes in the deep-sea mines of Bandomeer's worst kept secret, unknowing of Xanatos before the man arrives to torture him. When Obi Wan's fellow slaves launch a rebellion on their third week, he has worn a Force blocking collar for so long that he doesn't think of the Force when he sees Master Jinn again. When he offers to blow his collar to protect the other slaves, the Master offers an apprenticeship to bargain for his safety.

Obi Wan's response is simply. "Master Jinn, with all due respect, people are dying. I have greater concerns then how you wish to skin a nexu."

The man is not happy.

(Cal thinks it's hilarious.)

In the year of 957 RR, or 44 BBY depending on who you ask, Cal Kestis goes to sleep after a day and a half of nonstop medical appointments, physical trials, and psychiatric exams. He's tired, exhausted even, and after having Master Tyvokka and his previous Padawan (Plo Koon, General Buir himself!) help him get kitted out and ready for possible future missions, he moves from sleeping in the guest wing of the Temple to Master Tyvokka's own suite. Cal doesn't really remember Master Tapal's rooms in the Temple, he just remembered the Barracks on their Venator. Sleep is hard won, but deep with his need for rest, and he is unknowing of the argument occurring above his sleeping figure.
