A couple days after the funeral I recieved a text from Hunter.

"Hey beautiful, meet me at the park in a half an hour :)"

I looked down at what I was wearing; fuzzy pyjama bottoms and a crop top. I knew I had to change, but I was in no mood to dress fancy. I stripped off my pyjamas and replaced them with a comfortable black romper.

I threw on a pair of white converse and walked to the park.

Hunter pulled me into a tight embrace. I rested my head on his shoulder and he rubbed my back. In that moment I finally felt as if the world was not out to get me.

"Why did you want me here?" I ask him with a smile.
"Because, I have a surprise for you."

He's holding my hands and I'm staring into his puppy eyes. He leads me to his truck and opens the passenger side door, while I slide in.

We arrive in his backyard. I sigh. "Hunter I love you and all, but we go do your house everyday?" I tell him as gently as possible
"Wait that's not it." He takes my hand and we run out into the backyard.

I gasp. It's beautiful.

Hunter has set up a tent in the grass. Filled with blankets and pillows and junkfood. I jump into his arms and he hold me by the waist.

"You didn't have to do this." I squeal.
I pull him in for a passionate kiss, still with my arms wrapped around his neck.

"My lady." He gestures for me to enter the tent. My lips curl into a pleased smile as I step into the tent.

A moment later I decide to change into extra shorts I always have and one of Hunter's big hoodies.

"Hunter this is so sweet." I gleam again.
"Anything for you my darling." I love how he used the word darling instead of babe.

We munch on chips and just talk to eachother. It's one of the few happy days I've had in the past couple of months.

******

My body rests againsts Hunter's as we cuddle. My eyes are slowly fluttering shut.

"Thank you Hunter." I say.
"Your welcome, I mean it wasn't a big expensive date but I'm glad you enjoyed it." He replies.

"No I mean for being here, with me. We both know that I'm not..." I pause. "good right now and I want to thank you for making me happy."

"Amanda I always want to see you happy. I can't bare the fact that you're falling apart." He tells me.

"I already have fallen apart."
"Can I put you back together?"
"No." I reply. "I won't ever be the new girl you saw doodling on her hand in history class, but maybe you can help me find... the new me."

"Okay darling." He kisses me on the top of my head.
