I am startled to see Wei Ying hear and dressed in the Lan inner sect robes. I want to call to light the demon in the room but before I get a chance Lan Quirn stands up to address all of the sect leaders.
"I have two major things to announce. Firstly you all have noticed the boy I carried in, he is my adopted son Wen Yuan. He will be raised between the Lan sect and Wen sects. His parents died about a month ago and before then made both me and Wen Ruohan his godfathers. A-Yuans parents were rogue cultivators Wen Ang and Lan Sae and were killed during a night hunt leaving their five-year-old son an orphan. After a few days, without them returning A-Yuan had a letter sent out to the Lan sect because it was closer than the Wen sect.
We brought him back and realized that A-Yuan had some problems. The last time I saw him was during his one-month celebration that Wen Ang and Lan Sae invited me to. I only saw him sleeping and was unaware that he was born disabled. Regardless both brother Ruohan and I have decided to raise him as our son whether he can cultivate or not.
Secondly, I regret to inform you of the recent death of Wei Ying son of Wei Changze and Cangse Sanren. It was thought he passed away when both his parents died. Three months ago while at the Jang sect with my nephew's Wen Ruohan Lan Zan went to find the lotus pond and got lost. A-Zan ended up in the woods and came across an old log cabin with a candle lit. He looked in the window and saw a young boy chained up and lying in a pool of blood and immediately ran back and dragged me into the woods.
I was concerned as he told me that someone was injured inside. I was not prepared for what I saw and stopped dead at the sight of the small pail boy looking half dead. After recovering from my shock I quickly checked his pulse and to my relief, the boy was alive but barely. I cut the chains and soon we all left afterward with the Wen sect. Brother Ruohan took us back to the Wen sect and the healers tried to save his life, he sadly passed away a week later. At that time we found out that the boy was the son of both Wei Changze and Cangse Sanren and that their deaths were no accident. The Jang sect murdered them and kidnaped and tortured their only son Wei Ying to the point of death"-Lan Quiren
