Unable to talk, or walk I felt helpless. My neck wound could reopen and I could die. In the meantime I needed food. In the state I am in it makes that challenging. I have not eaten in over a week and due to me dragging myself around the improvised braces do not help much My legs have not healed.

I thought I was going to die due to lack of food and my neck wound reopening. A slow and painful death. I will never find my uncle and die alone. Uncle Kai is not even with me. If I was back home I would become an intelligent zombie. Right as I passed out I heard a noise and a muffled voice.

slowly came back to consciousness and was released I was no longer in the forest. There was a soft mat under me and a blanket. I could smell medical herbs. I must be in someone's home or hospital. There is shuffling outside and a door opens.

The boy is awake. There was a point that I lost him. The only way to save him also saved the life of an old friend. The white fox that I have fed since it was little. A hunter had killed it, I found out and saved his spirit and hoped one day to find a body powerful enough to survive a nine-tailed fox. If compatible the spiritual energies would become one allowing both to survive. The boy would possess the power of the nine tails combined with his already strong spiritual energy.

Winter as the fox was named told me he has a silver core but is filled with resentment as if they are one. With the power of the nine tails, he will become stronger. Making his spiritual power change slightly. There may even be physical changes. As the weeks went by with him being in a coma I noticed his hair become white like winter and his eyes become pinkish. No ears or tail, his incisors became longer and sharper.

His legs still need to heal but his recovery was faster than anyone I have ever seen. While I was mundane I could feel the powerful spiritual energy that made my skin prickle almost dark but calming. He left with some rations in his pack, his robe cleaned but his vocal cords still needed time to heal.

He stayed with me as his legs healed and after a month he could walk with a crutch. He refused to stay any longer despite my insistence. In the end, I sent him with rations for a week and the crutch.  I helped him get a fairy across the lake to the next town. That was two days by boat. He said he was looking for his uncle and wanted to know where Gusu was located.

With the month I was at the doctor's house and the week before I fell off my sword made five. We decided That I was in the woods for two weeks before I was found by the river. With a total of seven weeks since I left home. With my legs still healing, I took three cart rides, and two boats making a total of nine weeks. Once off the boat I made my way through the market and found a hotel for the night.

In the morning I gathered my belongings and made my way to the bottom of the mountain. It took most of the day to make it to the top. I no longer needed the crutch, it was slow going and I had to stop a few times because my legs would start to give out.
