After the meal, I want to ask Rue SoKai about these last years and how he came to be here. Why he is cold as ice? Why does he possess a token from Busu Siren? I notice while we are eating he just sits there, no food in front of him looking nervous. Once dinner finishes A-Yew goes to clean up most likely expecting me to want to talk to Rue SoKai.

After a pregnant pause, I break the silence. "Your Uncle Kai A-Yew mentioned. I was unsure what to expect or believe that he grew up in the most feared place even by cultivaters. How long have you raised him? How long have you been here and why do you have a token that shows you are a disciple of Bushu Siren?"-Lan Ming

I knew he had questions. Should I leave out the fact that I am a walking corpse? I did not want him to fear me and hoped to get along for A-Yew's sake. Does he know about the spiritual animal qui he possesses? Most likely not since they have been apart for so long he would not notice a change in his qui. Then, a few cultivators come across a spirit beast, one in a million. One in a billion make friends with one, very few spiritual beasts give their qui when they die. A cultivator's qui and body have to be strong enough to take in their qui without killing them both. It usually happens when a spiritual beast or a human. It is very concerning when WenYew left he had no experience with any spiritual beasts besides us Zombies. That means he was close enough to death that a spiritual beast decided to become one or that both were dying and that was the only way to save itself.

"I was residing here living in these woods when I felt my sliver core react in a way it had not since I was twenty-two. I decided to follow the tugging on my core, it was as if my body felt a cry for help. I walked out of the woods and encountered a boy no older than six. I took him to the doctor leaving him outside the door knowing I could not go in. I knocked and hid out of view. I stayed out of sight and when the doctor could not save him I waited for him to bring A-Yew out, I followed him into the woods and spooked him before he buried the child. I wrote down medical herbs for him to bring me and afterward, I disappeared into the woods as if I was never there. To this day the villagers believe the Yilling Woods are hunted. The cultivators say otherwise finding nothing out of the ordinary.

I brought him into the barrier surrounding this land not releasing that I had accidentally trapped him inside the burial mounds. I had only wanted to save him and did not realize what my actions had done until three weeks after when he woke up. I was hoping to find a cultivator to take him that way he would not live in this dark and gloomy place. I was holding his hand and was almost out when I felt a pull on my hand. I was startled to realize that he had run smack into the burier that I could easily walk through.

I brought him back to the cave that had one candle, the blanket, food, water, and a notepad with a pen. To keep him alive and comfortable stealing was the only thing I could do. I had no money and was unable to go on night hunts. If a villager saw me they would usually run away screaming and then cultivators would come and I sensed I had no way to communicate they would not know to come and take WenYew out. I would rather him grow up with me in the burial mounds than be stuck in there alone with the zombies guarding the outside and I killed because I was unable to communicate and would be killed first no questions asked."-Rue SoKai
