GOJO stared up at the ceiling, his hand intertwined over his chest. He found himself doing this most nights, unable to sleep, restlessly laying in his bed, hoping his body would allow him just a bit of sleep. But alas, as every other night, he mindlessly stared up. He was too tired to do anything, but not tired enough to sleep. It was frustrating.
Though, his nightly routine was interrupted by uncoordinated knocking on his front door. He turned his head, glancing at his phone. It was a little past three in the morning. Who could be knocking at his hour?
He left his bedroom, his hand curling around the knob of the door as he twisted it, pulling it open. Behind the door stood a very unsteady woman. She looked up at Gojo, and he immediately knew that she was heavily intoxicated. Not only could he smell the alcohol on her, but he could see it too. Her pupils were dilated, and her cheeks were flushed a deep red. Being out in the cold probably didn't help her case, but just by the way she was standing he knew.
Then it dawned on him. She told him that she couldn't get drunk easily. He'd watched her down more alcohol than he'd ever seen and get up perfectly fine. If she was actually drunk...
"Aki, how much have you had to drink?"
She shrugged and walked inside, holding onto the wall as she kicked her shoes off. She stumbled into the living room, her hand raising to hold the side of her head. Gojo could still see the remnants of the wound inflicted there from yesterday.
"I..." She began, her words slurring together. "I..I messed up."
"On what?" Gojo asked, closing the door. He locked it, just to be safe that she didn't try to stumble out and fall down the stairs.
"He says I'm...mothering him," She said, her eyebrows laced together. "I'm not...mothering...him. I'm helping him."
"Who?" He asked, grabbing the edge of the coffee table and sliding it from the middle of the floor, pushing it against the wall. She was beginning to pace, and he didn't want her to trip over it. "Nathan?"
"I'm trying to be his s-sister," She stated, waving her hands around as she talked. She paced back and forth, but in her drunken state, she acted like she was walking on a rocking boat. "I only want to help him. W-Without me, he'd be dead!"
"Aki, tell me what happened," Gojo demanded.
"I'm..."
Her steps slowly ceased. She looked down at her feet, and Gojo felt his eyes widen by a fraction. Tears raced down her cheeks and her lips were trembling. Her hands were shaking as she raised them to her face, her fingers brushing against her lips.
