If Mario Was In... Battleship

Chapter 1: First Encounter

The three ships had been sailing for five hours now. They had been able to fix Luigi, but they weren't out of the woods yet. Melony was busy looking through the Churchill's binoculars and humming a little tune to herself when she spotted something.

Melony: Huh? What the heck is that?

She turned to the bridge.

Melony: Hey, Luigi?

The green-clad plumber walked out and saw what Melony had spotted.

Luigi: What is that?

Melony: That's what I said.

On the Franklin, Chris observed the objects through his ship's lookout binoculars when an officer came to him.

Officer: Sir, you might wanna take a look at this.

Chris: I am looking at it, Lieutenant.

Officer: ...On the Radar, sir. There's something very peculiar.

Chris turned in confusion. On the bridge, they took a look at what the Radar was picking up. He pointed to the ships on the radar.

Chris: That's the Churchill, right?

Officer: Yes sir.

Chris: Intrepid?

Officer: Yes.

Chris then turned to what was in front of them.

Chris: So why can't I see... that?

He looked at the thing.

On board the Churchill, Saiko, Mario, Meggy, and SMG4 were looking at the radar with just as much confusion as everyone on board the Franklin.

Saiko: What? Mario, did you break this?

Mario: I didn't even touch it!

Saiko: You know I'm gonna throw your ass off the ship if you're lying right?

Mario: Yep.

On the Franklin, Chris grabbed the radio and began speaking to the ship through the loudspeaker.

Chris: This is the Mushroom Kingdom warship Benjamin Franklin and we're attempting to communicate with you. We have precious cargo on board, and we need you to move out of our way.

There was no response.

Chris: Give them a warning.

The helmsman sounded the horn. Still, no reply. Then, three ships rose out of the water. They eyed the destroyers before blasting a pulse towards them. The pulse shattered the glass and produced an earsplitting screech forcing everyone to cover their ears. Once it subsided, everyone slowly stood back up. At almost the same time, a hatch on the largest ship opened up and out came Lawyer Kong.

Mario: You again!?

Lawyer Kong: Did you really think you could get rid of me so easily?

Meggy: What's with the ships?!

Lawyer Kong: Like 'em? I signed a deal with Universal to use these ships. You have two options; hand over Mario or be destroyed. And we'll make sure you can't escape.

As if on cue, two beams of light shot out of the panels on Lawyer Kong's ship, creating an extension to the firewall.

Somewhere near the Mushroom Kingdom ships, the strike group, led by the USS George Washington, were headed to rendezvous with the Mushroom Kingdom warships when a barrier suddenly went up in front of them.
