After the whole Nintendo Ninja situation, everyone that had been evacuated from the kingdom was in the Churchill's CIC, discussing their next move. There was a map that they were surrounding as Mario marked places.

Mario: Nearest port is here.

He circled Rockford.

Mario: We're here.

He circled the destroyer's current position.

Mario: And they are somewhere in the middle.

He marked the area between the two circles with an X.

Mario: We can't track 'em without radar, so we can't take 'em out and finish this.

Shroomy: Hmmm...permission to speak sir?

Mario: I welcome it.

Shroomy: I don't think they can see us either.

Mario: What makes you say that?

Shroomy: Because we're still alive and you're still yourself.

Mario: Okay, so they can't see us, and we can't see them. And we have no way of hitting them from a safe distance.

Shroomy: I may have an idea.

Mario: Of what?

Shroomy: Seeing them, without seeing them.

SMG4: Please tell me you aren't gonna reference Art of War.

Mario: SMG4-

SMG4: What are we supposed to do? Fight the enemy where they aren't? Move like water? Cause I read that book like five times, and it makes no sense.

Mario: One, don't interupt someone when they're talking, it's very rude; two, you know that book is Chinese, right?

All eyes were on SMG4 now.

SMG4: ...Still makes no sense.

Shroomy: My idea is much more simple.

Mario: Well, what is it?

Shroomy paused for dramatic effect.

Shroomy: Water displacement.

Luigi: How do you track water displacement?

Shroomy: Tsunami buoys.

Saiko: Tsunami buoys?

Shroomy nodded before explaining.

Shroomy: Peach put a bunch surrounding the kingdom, transmitting displacement data. We can log into their transmissions and form a grid.

Mario: We can't track anything without radar and they're blocking that.

Shroomy: I don't need radar. Just the radio frequencies.

Shroomy began walking to the main radar area of CIC.

Shroomy: Turn off Aegis radar please.

All the senior staff looked at Shroomy.

SMG4: Who is this guy?

Mario: His idea could save our lives SMG4, try to be a little more grateful.

He walked over to Shroomy.

Mario: Meggy.

Meggy: Sir.

Mario: Secure SPY.

Meggy: Securing SPY, sir.

With the touch of a few buttons, every screen in CIC turned off.

Shroomy: Display NOAA data.

Everyone looked at Shroomy confused. Mario had a feeling this was part of Shroomy's plan.

Mario: You heard him. Display NOAA data.

A nearby officer did exactly that and withing seconds, a diamond shape appeared on the screen.

Saiko: What's that.

Mario: It's a buoy. If it gets hit by a wave, it transmits a signal.

Several more diamond shapes appeared on the screen.

Shroomy: Bring up chart plot.

Everyone was still confused as to what the walking-talking mushroom scout was planning, but Mario had a fairly good idea.

Mario: Chart plot. Bring it up. It'll show us where we are.

The same officer did that and, along with a diagram of the Churchill, came up a grid with numbers and letters. Mario and everyone else looked at the grid impressed.

Shroomy: So we can track them without radar. If any of those buoys goes red, we'll know where they are.

Mario: Nice work... Captain.

Shroomy looked at Mario, confused.

Mario: My chair is your chair, sir.

Shroomy nodded and sat down.
