Later, Admiral Greg gave a speech.

Admiral Greg: We take great pride in honoring the many men and women who demonstrated exceptional gallantry, in the face of overwhelming enemy force.

As he continued talking, the people who served on the Churchill and the Titan came up to the stage.

Admiral Greg: Valor and courage were exhibited by so many, that I cannot honor them all. It is my great privilege to recognize those few whose actions deserve special note. Meme Guardian and former criminal mastermind, SMG3.

SMG3 inwardly sighed at the mention of his past. Still, he came up and shook the admiral's hand as the audience, of which SMG1 and 2 were a part of, clapped.

Admiral Greg: Princess Peach takes great pleasure in presenting the Navy Cross, to acting-Commander Chris Gordman, for extraordinary heroism. Receiving this award, on behalf of his friend, acting-Lieutenant Commander Mario.

Mario took a deep breath and walked up to the stage. He saluted the admiral and received the award. He looked at the picture of Chris before shaking the admiral's hand. Before joining his friends, the admiral said something to him.

Admiral Greg: Stand fast, Mr. Mario.

Mario understood what that meant and stood at attention.

Admiral Greg: It is my great pleasure, to present you with the Silver Star, for your exceptional heroism, gallantry, and combat operations.

The audience clapped and cheered as Admiral Greg handed him the award. Mario smiled slightly as he accepted. He looked at his friends, who smiled back.

Admiral Greg: And I look forward to seeing you at sea in a ship of your own command, soon.

Mario looked at the crowd of people and then back at his friends and the admiral.

Mario: Thank you.

After the ceremony, the celebrations commenced. They were taking pictures and all-around having fun. During this time, SMG3 asked SMG1 about what happened at the firewall.

SMG3: Hey, 1, what was that all about on the firewall?

SMG1: It's something rare. Sometimes, a Meme Guardian will have the power to transmute meme energy on their own.

SMG3: Huh, seemed like plot convenience to me.

SMG1: It also doubles as that.

After that, everyone had a grand old time. More of their friends such as Kaizo, Boopkins, Bob, Belle, and even Axol joined in, they took some fun pictures, and joked about Meggy and Mario as a couple. Then, SMG4 had an announcement.

SMG4: Hey, I have to say something.

Everyone listened to SMG4.

SMG4: After what we went through, I've decided I want to do something other than post memes on YouTube, especially since there are so many people who are less fortunate than us. So, I talked to Admiral Greg, and he said we've been invited to join the Mushroom Kingdom Naval Academy. I've accepted the invitation, but I wanted to know if you guys were interested in it.

Everyone thought for a moment before deciding.

Mario: Sure.

Meggy: I can take ROTC since I'm still in college.

Bob: I'm JuSt GoNnA tAkE tHe OpTiOn ThAt TaKeS tHe LeAsT aMoUnT oF tImE.

Boopkins: If I can go to college, maybe I can join you guys in the Navy too!

Saiko: Hell yeah, I'm interested.

Kaizo: Same!

Everyone seemed interested in joining the Navy. Well, except Toad but we don't care about him.

SMG4: Thanks guys.

Meggy: Hey, like you said, there are people less fortunate than us. We should help them in any way we can.

SMG3: Plus, I can have free access to bombs!

SMG4 just rolled his eyes at his doppelganger's explosive obsession. As the sun set over the horizon, the story of SMG4 and his friends came to a close. But their new story was just beginning.

Ten Years Later...

While Mario had shown exceptional leadership in combat, he was content with being Executive Officer while SMG4 became a captain. They and their friends had been placed on the destroyer Nathan James and were preparing to leave on their next assignment. Apparently, they were the only ones qualified for this assignment and were transferred from other ships.

SMG4 saluted his crew as he walked to greet the person they were supposed to be escorting to the Arctic. When he got to them, he was surprised to see who it was.
