Bloody Fists
chapter ten

music was a form of peace, it held comfortablility within its lyrics, it was the only voice that could make it way to certain parts of the brain, music was the home to a crying teenager, locked up in their room because the voices were getting too loud. music was able to calm their fears, tell them that everything would be okay. that they had to continue to look into the future, to fight the light in a dark tunnel. it was a way to tell them to just, hold on.

someone like Davina nevoa relied on the music flowing through her ears, without the constant tune of taylor swift , or Lexi Jayde — even Gracie Abram's, athena would be lost in an endless rabbit hole, stuck with the voices in her head. no way to escape.

she laid on her bed, with her cat, izoko cuddled up to her side. he used to be a stray , until devin had found him on the streets and took him to the vet. before giving him to his sister as a christmas present.

her hands ran down his back but her eyes stayed glued to her cream coloured roof, the brown orbs diluting when she began to lose focus on reality, the real world.

she wasn't quite sure what had caused a string of sadness to carry its way to her, she never really knew why she got upset. one moment she could be happy, a bright smile present on her lips and the next, she was a lifeless frame. her heart dropping with every beat.

she couldn't cry, she wasn't sad. she was numb and confused. her body felt as if it was on fire, like claws were scratching into her skin ( that wasn't from izoko's grip on her t-shirt )

all she could do was lay there in the darkness, confused. letting the tune of taylor swifts 'majorie' flow through her ears. giving her the reminder of her grandmother.

her grandmother lived in japan, and it was a very rare occasion that she came to visit her only four grandkids. she did however, send them presents on their special days, and on christmas. so, that partly made up for her lack of being in their lives.

Davina and her grandmother had been closer when she was younger, when the nevoa kids had enough money to fly over to japan with their parents. before that night.

she skipped past the rest of the song , not wanting to remember what had happened. Her memories fading into a abyss. They believed she was too young to recount the events of November 19th, but she remembered it all.

.  .  .

the day after, Davina sat on the barky ground in front of a park bench where aisha, miguel and demetri sat. she watched hawk play around with a small blonde kid from cobra kai from afar with a smile on her face, unknowing to her. She could watch him for years, she didn't look at him and see Hawk, she saw every bit of Eli in him.

"come on , eat something , it'll make you feel better" said demetri, handing a roll to miguel. Miguel was sulking over Sam recently turning against him. By that, it meant Sam was no longer responding to his messages and calls, so he went over to her house to find her with another boy.

"i told you, i'm not hungry man" miguel replied in a sad tone while he starred down the roll in his hands.

"i still think you're overreacting" Demetri inputted his opinion.

"i'm not overreacting dude" Miguel sighed "i know what i saw."

"all right, so you saw her eating diner with some chode" hawk spoke up from behind the group as round house kicked the little boy to the ground. Davina grimaced when the boy face planted and groaned "it's probably just her brother or something"
