Bloody Fists
chapter one

Davina Nevoa grew up being the mother figure to her two younger brothers. Without having a role model she could've followed, Davina was left trying her best under the small circumstances that her life was built up from.

The family had nothing, the simple but the harsh truth. With the death of their father and the imprisonment of their mother, the four siblings were left with nothing. With what was left of their parents money, they managed to rent out a small apartment in a sketchy apartment complex down the valley. It wasn't as bad as people made it, it managed to work as their home. Even if they had to deal with the grumpy alcoholic who lived the apartment next door.

Davina was still in school, and it was her focus to finish and get into MIT with her two friends. She rarely had time to work outside of school, with taking care of her two younger brothers while her older brother was working, she couldn't spare much time to work.

She still had a life, she went out with her bestfriends often, and they had sleepovers at least once a month where they would watch Star Wars marathon and Dementri and Eli would make bets on what part of the first movie Davina would fall asleep during. She loved spending time with her friends, away from her home. She cherished every moment away from the reality of who she was. She just didn't have much time for a job,

It was okay. Davina's older brother, Devin had a good job at LaRussos motors. Mr. LaRusso was a very nice man, he was very flexible knowing their situation. Devin was payed good enough to pay rent off and buy groceries every week. If there were days in which Devin couldn't make it, Mr. LaRusso would ask if Davina wanted to work inside, so they could keep up with their bills and she could earn some experience. Davina liked working sometimes, she usually took the very few shifts that were given to her.

When you live in the lowercase section, no one really cared about you. The police left you be, knowing there were hundreds of calls every day about the lowercase area due to sketchy behaviour. You were never questioned about your life. It was good, Devin was only twenty, he wasn't financially stable enough to have custody over his three younger siblings. They were greatful no one ever questioned anything about what had happened to their parents. People knew. They didn't ask anything more and left them to be

They lived in a home. Davina stood in the kitchen, flipping over a fourth and final pancake while Devin worked on packing their brothers lunch boxes for school. "Orange juice or apple juice for Logan?" He asked, flashing both boxes of juice towards his sister

"Orange juice for Logan, Apple juice for Jayden" Davina answered, pressing down on the pancake with her spatula.

Devin nodded his head, placing their respective juice boxes in their lunch boxes. "I'm working until five tonight, boss said he would drop off some homemade cookies for the boy's birthday tomorrow. Don't eat them."

Davina rolled her eyes, her brother knew her well "I would never."

Devin snorted with a scoff "you would, and I'm asking you not too."

"I won't" Davina nodded her head, picking up the pancake, she placed it onto a plastic plate. "Can you go get the boys?"

"You just want Jayden to claw at my face again" Devin sighed, moving around the counter to head towards their shared bedroom.

They lived in a two bedroom apartment, it was decided when they moved it that Davina would get her own room and the three boys would share the other.

Davina simply laughed. Jayden wasn't a morning owl, he hated being woken up any earlier than twelve pm. He would throw a tantrum and throw hands everywhere, normally leading in the person waking him up being clawed like Davina's cat, Izoko had done it.
