LALISA

"Good morning! What's going on? I don't remember having fieldwork at this time. Or do we?" Irene asked before stepping inside her office. It's been a week that I've been following her around, and she must've been used to it.

"Good morning, Madam Chair!" I politely bowed, and she just nod before settling herself on the middle chair, which reserves for her.

"What is it, Ms. Manoban?" She asked. It's my first time coming here, well directly to her office. Usually, we're in a conference hall or the other part of the company.

"Are - are you busy? Sorry. I made us, uhmm Eden lunch, and You. I just want to give it personally." I said without hesitation, after all, that's what I came for today.

"Oh, thank you! I haven't eaten breakfast." She smiled sincerely. "Have you?"

"Actually, I want to eat with you if you're not busy. Eden told me that you still have work at the hospital."

"Okay, we can eat at the cafeteria. Let's go?" She didn't wait for me to respond and just walk towards the door so I followed her behind.

As we go along, many of her employees approach her and she always makes time to attend to them. I never see her this passionate outside her labcoat and I can't help but be amazed and proud of her.

"Sorry about that." She said again wearing her wide smile while directly meeting my gaze.

"It's okay, it's fun watching you work."

"That's a comp - -."

"Irene, where are you going? What is she doing here? We don't have - - " Seulgi suddenly appeared, followed by Dr. Park and Yeri. Just then Irene held Seulgi's arm before she could latch towards me.

"Calm down, tiger!" Irene cackled playfully which made them giggle along with her. It's the first time hearing her laugh again after all those miserable years. "I'm having lunch with Lisa. Want to join, Yeri?"

"Would you like to, Lisa?" I couldn't react well since I was only paying attention to Irene.

"Su - sure, we can all go." I met Yeri's gaze but she just wink before looking back at Irene.

"No, I need to talk to Lisa alone. Come to the hospital right after your work here. Understood?"

"Yes, Madame Chair." They playfully saluted, making their laugh echo around the lobby. I watch them go, then flinch when Irene tugs my right hand.

"Come on, you have your car with you right?"

"Yes, just the one park at the front." She nodded before letting go. How I wish I could hold her hand longer like I used to.

"Seatbelt please," I mumbled yet unconsciously reaching for it.

"Thank you." She whispered, didn't even tear her eyes off me.

"Can I be honest?" I asked as I turned on the ignition and drove off. "Irene, can you please be more considerate of my feelings? Why are you treating me so well? Why aren't you getting mad? I - i - know you're married but still, I am barely accepting this and still hurting."

"Then, just don't look at me. You have the will to look at anyone else and be with them instead." She sighed and then look outside. "It's not like I obligated you to come here and be on my side. Treating you bad or good isn't much of a choice because whatever treatment I gave, Neither you nor I can change whatever happened before."

"I'm sorry for asking. Just that, never mind."  The drive didn't take that long since her hospital is just close to her company.

"You know well where I work huh." She commented as we both stepped out and heads to the cafeteria.
