Mia sat on the chair and tried to calm down. He wasn't talking about me. He was talking about another girl., she thought, but she started to worry about it, deciding that she should go home. She didn't want to call Yuna, because it will deffinitely ruin her happiness - she will just go home and forget what she just heard. When Mia got home, she decided that she won't overreact - Jungkook surely wasn't talking about her. Sojin was just jealous, and even Namjoon said that she's evil, so she probably lied to Mia because she was in love with Jungkook. But no matter what she told to herself, one little thing made her worries even bigger - Sojin said that she's Jungkook's first love. And he didn't deny it.
While Mia was worrying about Jungkook, he was at home, talking with Yuna over the phone.
"So, are you gonna buy her a present?" Yuna asked excitedly. He sighed.
"No, Yuna, I usually go and hide in another country when it's birthday from someone I love." he said ironically, and she ignored it for a second, after which she realised what he just said.
"Someone you love?!" she said and chuckled, while he was forcing himself not to slam his head against the wall because of embarrassment.
"Yah, I was talking generally, you know!" he tried to get out of this situation, but Yuna was in the mood - she wanted to tease him, and she will do it unmercifully.
"Don't lie, Jungkook, I know you very well." she said and smirked, and he silently laughed, so she couldn't hear him.
"No, you obviously don't. I was talking about birthdays in general, you know, you don't care about birthdays if you don't love the person who celebrate it, so-" he tried to get out of this again, but Yuna cut him off.
"So you're admitting that you love her?" she said and laughed, and he rolled his eyes in frustration.
"I don't love anybody except my friends." he said coldly, causing her to be serious. That's what he thought, but Yuna continued with serious tone:
"I was kidding. I know how cold you are, and since Mia is your very special friend, you love her on very special way!" she said and laughed again, and he sighed again. But he wasn't sighing because of Yuna's little attacks - he sighed because he was really enjoying it.
"I'm hanging up!" he said and was already on his way to hang up, when she shouted: "Yah, brother-in-law!"
Jungkook immediately answered: "What now??" and she laughed even harder: "Nothing, I wanted to check if you will respond on "brother-in-law"!" said Yuna and hang up, leaving him really frustrated. It was Mia's birthday in three days and he hasn't decided what he should buy to her; he called Yuna for help, but she just teased him and hang up.
Tomorrow morning, Jungkook walked in a classroom, and when he noticed that Mia wasn't there, he frowned.
"Yah, maknae, don't be so happy to see me, I'm just your best friend!" said V, teasing him, and Jungkook punched him lightly in the shoulder, after which they laughed. Mia walked in a classroom, but teacher followed her soon after, so Jungkook couldn't say anything to her. He noticed that something was off - she looked sad and tired. After the class ended, he approached her, hoping that he will make her happy. Yuna greeted him with a smirk and mouthed the words "brother-in-law" while Mia was searching through her bag, and he glared at Yuna, causing her to chuckle. V called Yuna to tell her "something interesting about the lesson they just learned" and she almost flied to him, leaving an empty seat next to Mia, where Jungkook sat. She looked at him and smiled, and he smiled back, taking her hand and intertwining his fingers with hers. He looked at her, feeling like he learned every single part of her by heart, and felt like his heart is going to explode because of happiness. He finally stood up when Yuna came back and teacher come in, trying not to show off how hard was for him to leave her, even though he was just two desks behind her.
In the middle of the class, teacher shouted: "Kang Mia! Are you sleeping?!" and when Mia lifted her head, professor looked really mad. "Detention, today after school." she said coldly, and Mia just nodded, too tired to argue with her - she did sleep, after all.
When the bell rang, she run through the hallways and searched for professor Kim to tell her what to do, but instead of professor Kim, she found professor Choi.
"I'll work with you, because professor Kim has to check some tests." she said, and smiled. When they got into an empty classroom - in the same one where Mia and Jungkook were locked the last time - someone knocked on the door and came in. Mia gasped - it was Jungkook. Professor Choi looked at him questionable, and he smiled.
"Math professor decided to punish me - I cursed because of happiness when the bell for the last class rang." he almost singed and sat next to the Mia, trying not to laugh, while Mia was raising her eyebrow.
He never cursed.
