ESME

"Would you like some pasta and chicken?" Thomas asks me, nervously. I nodded at him so he gets out of the fucking room. I know deep down that Thomas is no longer innocent in my eyes after I read that he ruined my marriage 6,000 years ago. I hear a crow knocking on the window of the bedroom with its beak. I couldn't understand until I knew that Dante wanted me out of the house. I grab my black leather jacket and leave a small note to Thomas that I had to go outside for some air. I close the apartment's door quietly and run as fast as I can until I heard the crow, again.

"Dante?" I call out his name. I'm standing on grass and I see the grey sky above me filled with clouds and when I look in front of me, there he is. He is standing tall and still and the crow is next to him. His darkened blue eyes are staring deep down into my soul. I walk slowly, step by step. I left mere inches between us and I look up to his face. When I'm standing like this, I can recognize more of his features. He has pale skin that it's almost white. His black messy hair and his hard structured face with a very sharp jaw leave me admiring them. He lowers his stare to look at me. The cold icy wind makes me shiver, but I don't care. From what I see in front of me, he's probably the strongest man I've ever seen in my entire life. "Matthew, take us to the palace." The crow lifts into the air and Dante points a finger to the sky. Suddenly, he carries me into his arms and we travel to his dimension.

We're standing in front of his huge palace and he walks ahead of me. I stand still until he uses his magic to open the large grey gates and he turns to face me. "Please, come in." He ushers me to go inside, so I do. The decorations are magnificent. There are a lot of portraits of the Egyptian Kings held up into the ceiling. I look around and I find a lot of statues of the Greek Gods and when I turn a full circle, he held me with his hands. "I want you here for a reason and not to admire the palace. Follow me." He takes my hand and we both walk to an apparent office room. He waved me to sit down in front of his desk. I sit down and he sits on his chair. "Let me ask you this: do you who I really am?" I get startled. I reached to the part that I was supposed to be married to a man called Narmer, but I didn't read what happened after Thomas stopped the marriage.

I dozed off completely, but I'm scared of his question. "I'm the supposed King Narmer." He stares at my face, trying to decipher my reaction, but I didn't want to react to that kind of information. "And you're supposed to be my wife. Your true name is Neithhotep." I blink abruptly. "Do you know what happened to us, love?" I shake my head, nervously. "Thomas is a fucking Egyptian magician and his true name is Heka. He's the God of Magic." I stand up and I pull out my hair in frustration. "How come the names have changed through the years?!" I ask him.

He contemplates my question. "Esme, we've been cursed by Thomas. He still has no recollection of his lost memories. but I assure you if he knows anything about this, he could send us to the dimension where the hell raiser belongs to witness the end of the world and be killed there or worse: change into demons. We're time travelers because the magic runs in our blood." I remain silent. "The thing is: I've been disfigured into a British man who died years ago. These are not my true features. They've changed because he didn't want either of us to recognize each other, ever again." I look down at the ground and that brings me to another question. "Then how did you recognize me, Dante?" He stands up and waves a little into the air and I get plunged into the past.

I see the old Egyptians, building the pyramids and I stare at my clothes. I'm dressed different and I hear them talking to each other. I try to steer clear from the site and run as fast as I could to the nearest home. "Esme, knock on the first house you see on the left side." His voice echoes into the sky, so I run to the house in front of me and I knock on it. The door opens, automatically. I stare at the living room and I hear a screech of a woman. I don't know if I should open the door or not. I scream at the sight of me when the door gets opened and I see a dead woman and covered in blood. She was raped and killed by a monster, staring down at the body and he turns to face me. It's Thomas and when I look at her, again, she's me. I'm the woman who he raped and killed.

He leaves the room and I'm all astonished and my heart beats very fast. I run away from the house and I see King Narmer held onto a stick and being tied from his hands and knees. "FUCK!!!" Then, I hear the cries from the king from being tortured by Heka AKA Thomas till his face is all blood and there's no skin left him and he falls on the ground. I see a man writing the incident detail by detail and runs away from the guards. The people and the guards leave the body on the ground and Heka was reading something from a book and the king vanishes into the thin air. The wind whooshes around me until I return back to the palace. "What the fuck was that?!" I ask him. "Believe me, I wanted you to be aware who you're going to be against. It's a matter of time until the hell raiser visits the human world, again."

"Ok, what the fuck is that supposed to mean?!" He waves his hand at me and I fall asleep. I'm a just a pile of emotions filled with hurt and pure rage.
