Author's Pov:-

Two arms sagely caged Gabriela's body, shocking her. When she glanced at the sobbing figure securely clutching her, her heart began to beat quickly. In an effort to calm Davina down, she raised her hand and began carefully to caress her back. Gabriela had Davina look at her as she spoke her name, and for the first time in her life, Gabriela felt awful for her rude behaviour as she observed her child's trembling figure desperately sobbing in front of her.

She gently raised her hand, wiping the tears from her pale-looking face with dark circles under her eyes before clasping her hand and guiding her to the back of the balcony railing. She then removed her hands from hers, turned around, and looked at the scorching city. She then closed her eyes, took a deep breath, filling her lungs, and then opened her eyes again, but the only difference was that her eyes were now obvious.

Gabriela said "I'm sorry, Davina," loud enough for Davina to hear. Davina was trying to match her eyes and wanted to question as the chilly breeze passed them. for continually abusing her? Thinking back on how she had hugged her, she felt somewhat ashamed of herself as well. Nevertheless, as Gabriela thinks on the situation, she is unable to help but turn her head away from Davina in regret.

"I was only twenty years old when I was forcibly married to Gerardo," and a soft sob left Davina's mouth. Scrunching her running nose, she looked at Gabriela.

"Before we got married, I had a boyfriend, and we were in love. He was killed by my family when we both made the decision to get married." Gabriela laughed blankly as she thought back to her previous life as Davina's eyes widened. "They forced me to break up with him but when I refused, they killed him in front of my eyes since his family was not wealthy like ours and was not a member of the mafia as mine was." Gritting her teeth, she mumbled the last remark.

"I was completely broke inside, she said. Then I was made to wed your father under force. Every time he reminded me of your father, I disliked him because I believed that he was the only reason they killed him. He was killed as a result of him. Imagine if Gerardo hadn't come into our life. Perhaps he was still alive between us or not far from me." She swallowed and her eyes grew furious as she proceeded.

"I ignored him every day and gave him the cold shoulder all the time, but he was loving me in another way in which I was never accepting. He was loving me unconditionally. Of course, we had sex after we got married, but that doesn't make me any less hateful of him." She offensively chuckled, "I also wanted to be treated with respect; my appearance in my house was nothing, but here after marriage, Gerardo was always here for me, always prepared to become my shield, my support, everything he does to make me happy, but I kept ignoring all his efforts and kept blaming him for his death."

"Beautiful sunsets every day slowly sinking down, filling my heart with sleep, forcing me to sleep with him, and reminding me that it was the end of yet another day without him in my life, but gradually, when I started to wake up gasping in the middle of the night unable to sleep due to my nightmares, the fact that I had completely forgotten that he was there for me, he reminded my heart to beat again by completely engulfing my body into his arms before placing a soft kiss on my forehead."
