Davina's Pov:-
I clasped the dress and pulled it tight to my body while gazing silently out the window. The chilly air brushed against me and slightly soaking me. I shivered more when the thunder rumbled farther away and the rain got heavier. Before reaching at the hospital, Dario was discovered dead on the way there, and Mattia hasn't been in possession of any new details since that day. Dario had refused to inform anyone at home when the doctor declared him affected by cancer. He had cancer that had spread to all of his organs and other parts of his body, and he was stubbornly resisting medical care. Everything in this place was so quiet—there was no girl chit-chatting with Selena or chilling with Carlo—that it appeared strange all around. Additionally, we would return home tomorrow, as Gerardo was told by a man.
The sound of the car door closing reached my ears, and I could hear a screaming mob outside as I saw Davide standing in a pool of greatly humidened rain. With Carlo by his side, he was stomping furiously in the direction of the home while wearing his signature arrogant expression. I'm all of a sudden feeling sorry for him.
He was in the room when the booming voice that was shutting the door was heard. Before gulping the entire glass of water, I sighed. Before anything getting worse, I sit on the bed. In the home, there was a loud thud. I froze in fear and hurriedly moved towards his room. Davide was seated on his king-size bed, half-naked, as I softly pulled open the door. I noticed him sitting on his king-sized bed with his wet shirt propped up on the dresser, as though he had just taken it off and thrown it there angrily.
I moved carefully in his direction. He looked dangerous. He had messy hair, and his firm chest was getting wet from the rain. As I watched his exposed chest bounce up and down, I gasped. He lifted his chin and raked his hands through his hair, looking me in the eye. I stopped on my way to his bathroom and went straight there. I reached for the white towel and moved closer to his hair, but before I could do so, he barked, halting me in my progress.
"I'm not in the mood to mess with you, so don't dare get close to me, Davina." and I could hear the sorrowful voice I knew so well. He sent a thrill of pain shooting through my veins, but before he could finish, I place the towel on his face, forcing him to stop and turn to face me instead of continuing. I understand that he was suffering, and I know that I can't argue with him or, in his words, play with him!
His head was being slowly soaked while the towel was being gently stroked through his dark hair and water. He shook his head, put his head straight on my stomach, and conveyed his feelings, saying, "Dario... he was always a good man, a good Capo, a good leader, but he was never a good husband, he was never a good dad, he was always good for outsiders and never for his loved ones," which made me twist in pain in the very centre of my stomach. He weakened.
