Chapter 7

Sparkling's pov

"So? Where do you want to go first?" I turned and asked my friends.

"You guys!" A voice yelled from our right.

Our heads fwipped around to discover Clover, Mint, and Cocoa running towards us. Clover had a white fading green dress with green jacket and green shoes. Mint wore a loose white shirt and brown pants while Cocoa had a white shirt and brown skirt. 

"Hi guys!" Herb waved happily from besides me, aww he was so cute.

When they approached, Herb and Clover embraced, and a wave of jealousy rolled over me. Besides me, Vampire grunted. 

"Clover, where's my hug?" Vampire whined, causing everyone to chuckle but me and Vampire.

"Awww, don't worry babe," Clover giggled and went over to give a hug to Vampire.

"Sparkling? Are you alright?" Herb asked, startling me and causing me to blush.

"I, uh-" I stuttered, making me look like a idiot.

That's when I found a pair of arms wrapping around me with warmth. I was wrapped in warmth and I smelled fresh flowers, plants, and a bit of sea-salt? Huh, didn't expect Herb to smell sea-ish, more like rain. Wait, Herb? Oh, MY, GOD, Herb was hugging me! I felt like I was gonna scream, well my face color already screamed: OMG IM ON Cloud 9!!!, unfortunately.

"Does this help?" Herb whispered near my ear, and I felt his body heat up as to mines.

"Y-yeah," I murmured, wishing to stay like this longer, but of cource the moment just had to end.

"You guys don't mind if me and Vampy go explore this festival together, right?" Clover chirperd, while Vampire nodded.

"In that case, we'll head off together as well," Mint announced and linked his arms with Cocoa's.

"Then, uh, maybe we should go together?" I suggested nervously, "I-if that's alright with you Herb."

"I-I don't mind!" Herb smiled, "I need someone to help me around, and I could learn more about you!"

I, who had just barely stopped blushing, became flustered yet again.

"Perfect! Let's all meet at the Spooky maze at, hmmm, let's say 4:00!" Cocoa said.

"I think maybe we should meet up at 12:00 to eat," I interjected, "We could talk about what we did in the morning."

"That's a good idea!" Cocoa said, "Alright, does everyone else agree?"

I nodded, along with everyone else, then we parted ways. Clover and Vampire headed towards some trees, odly, and Cocoa and Mint went to the direction of rides. 

"So where would you like to go?" I asked, trying to stay calm and not squeal in happiness. 

"The game booth's seem pretty fun!" Herb said excitedly and pointed towards the toss the rings booth.

"Sure!" I nodded and we went towards it.

"Hello fellas! A ticket a try to win a plushie or candy!" The owner advertised.

When he saw Herb though, he said, "Hello there again! Thanks for the Plants ideas Herb!"

"No problem!" Herb grinned, "Can we give the game a try?"

"K, just hand over the ticket," He said, a bit bored.

The game booth looked pretty simple, and there was a cluster of bottles on the table. I assume that I'm going to try to toss a ring onto one of the bottle tops.

I decided to go first, so I tore one of my tickets off and handed it to the owner. I was positive that I would be able to win something which I can present to Herb. I can pour drinks with eas and preciseness sooo.

"I'll do this with ease," I winked at Herb as the owner handed me a ring.

I've never played this before, but how bad can this get? I squinted one eye and took aim, and let go.. the ring zipped through the air, lowering to a bottle top that was the center of the cluster of bottles. I held my breath as i saw it draw nearer, but the ring hit the top and ricocheted.

"What!" I excaimed surprise, "I swear it-"

"Tough luck mate, do you want to retry then?" The owner said annoyed.

Herb giggled, and I shook my head. I stepped back to allow Herb to try. He handed a ticket and took aim. He threw it... and it easily landed.

"Congrats!" I hugged Herb, "Oh- sorry!"

"That's alright," He mumbled, a bit pink.

"E-hem, what prized do you want?" The owner coughed.

I stared at the row of prizes. There was a gigantic lollipop, a small shark plushie, a cute cactus plushie, a small bag of candy, and a Coca cola bottle plushie. I thought Herb was going to choose the cactus plush, but instead he picked a small shark plushie.

"Oh! You're getting that?" I asked when he picked it up, "It is cute, I mean-"

"Oh, this is for my brother," Herb explained, "Don't worry, my family is gonna visit tomorrow so you'll meet them then!"

"I can't wait," I said truthfully, "I'mm a bit nervous though."

"Don't worry, you're only pretty much dead meat if you're my boyfriend," He giggled, "At least for one of my parents."

"Ah, haha ok," I said nervously, getting a bit scared.

3rd person POV

Herb and Sparkling spent the rest of the morning doing rides since they didn't want to puke after Lunch. Meanwhile Cocoa and Mint had done some rides and went on a romantic boat ride. Vampire and Clover snuck Licorice in as some girl so no one would recognize him. The 3 of them did some rides and games, they won a bag of candy, a gift card to Sparkling's bar, and a plant plushie. They avoided rides though in case Licorice's wig fell off.

At Lunch Licorice had to leave, without anyone knowing he was ever there. The group chatted for a bit and seperated yet again. Afterwards they finished some games and after a bit, some rides, they met up. They entered the Haunted Maze/house, slowly getting lost in the mist.. unkown to the evil that awaits.

Meanwhile with the cookie's of darkness

"Where were you?!" Pomegrante yelled furiously at Licorice, "I had to baby-sit Poisonous Mushroom!"

Behind Licorice, Poisonous Mushroom shuddered in fear. 

Licorice glared at Pomegranate, "I was just-"

"And don't lie," Pomegrante hissed, "I know when you do.."

"Ok fine, I was hanging out at the the Carnival," Licorice confessed, "I'm back now aren't I?"

"Still! Espresso isn't going to the maze alone now!" Pomegrante growled, "He is heading off with Madeleine and Latte. A group of cookie also just walked in!"

"HOw is that my fault!" Licorice whined.

"Whatever, just focus on the plan.."
