Herb nervously re-double checked his pouch containing his medic materials before nodding, "Yep."
"Herb! I'm not the best prep talker, but Im gonna give you a prep speech anyways," Sea Fairy said, dragging him away and leaving me by myself.
All the cookies from the previous meet and Cocoa, Parfait, Mint, and Clover were gathered near the forest, ready to go forth. I still have a couple minutes to do what I want so I decided to revisit this week's memories which was filled with me with Herb.
I smiled to myself. All week me and Herb had fun, getting to know eachother and stuff. I know what probably should've been preparing some more, but like, we can't prepare all the time. We need some breaks. Not to mention, it costs materials to practice and a dummy.
I then forwned, remembering buping into Lemond Drop Wine a couple times even though I and Herb try to aboid him. Whenever we meet him, Herb quickly becomes uncomfortable and the air beomes thick with tention. I wanted to kick Lemon Drop Wine every time I see his snarky face, but Herb calms me down by gently squeezing my hand. Well, this simple gesture only calmes me down a little, but it was enough for me not to punch Lemon Drop Wine's face.
I then rememberd the one time i was visiting Herb's new plant in his backyard when the plant tried to snap my feet off. It was a mini version of the terrifying venus fly trap he accidentally got ahold of when he splashed Espresso's potion instead of water onto a normal fly trap. I felt myself shiver at that memory. Herb chased after me and tried to calm me down as he invited me inside his house. At that time I was thinking of how it would be nice if I could use it to snap off Herb's exs grin.
Speaking of expressions and faces.. Herb's face was so cute when he was worried about me at that time, I couldn't help but smile. I giggled, staring off into the distance, and recalled another memory.
Herb was taking a bubble bath when I accidentally burst in on him. And my oh my did he look fine. I would've left, but I kinda stayed a bit longer, joing him in the bath. He invited me after all. Once the situation sunk into my head, and that I was sitting with him in a bath naked, I got a nosebleed and had to look away embarrased and blushing. Just the thought of that memory now still makes my cheeks flush.
"Spaarrrkling, earth to Spaaarkling. Helloooo, are you ok??" Someone asked, snapping me back into reality.
"Hu-uh?" I stuttered then noticed it was Latte who had spoken, "Y-yeah, ofcoure!"
"Then why has your expression changed from frowning to anger, terrified, slightly sinister, embarrased, happy and lastly flurstered as hell?" Cream Puff said before bursting into giggles.
"Ooo, I bet he's been thinking about him or something," Choco Mocha said, giggling along.
"Wh-what?! I haven't been thinking about H-herb!" I yelped, feeling my ears heating up even more.
"We didn't say who 'him' was!" Cream puff shouted teasingly, "But that's alright, that's who we meant."
My eyes widened at my stupidity. How did I fall for their trick?!
Latte sighed, "Sparkling, I swear. You're hopelessly in love!"
"Buuut it is kinda sweet," Latte continued, "after all, you've never truly liked anyone else."
"Thanks?" I said with a hint of confusion as I watched the 3 cookies get led away by Madeleine.
Soon, Pure Vanilla announced that everyone was ready and that we could start moving. Herb rushed to my side and he gave me a smile to which I returned. He held my hand as we began to walk with the others excluding the defense team whome would stay behind and get rid of any cake monsters that come too close to the kingdom.
We reach 'station 1' fairly quickly, where Black Raisin cookie got some of her Crows to stay at and alert any defense team members if any cake hounds came along. We continued for much longer until we finally reached station 2, aka the castle of Dark Enchantress. Dark, black, and red walls that loomed high into the sky with terror radiating from it.
Espresso, Madeleine, Latte, Cream puff, and Chocolate Mocha quickly prepared to enter through a window, but before I followed them I had to say something to Herb. I turned to Herb and gave him a peck on the forehead. I heard Seafiary muttering angrily and a few "Awees," but that didn't matter. Herb blushed.
"Goodluck," I whispered into his ear, "Love ya."
"T-thanks, you too," He stammered, "I-I l-love you as w-well."
Then I hopped through the window, following the others into another room. Suddenly I heard a loud furious voice that belonged to Dark Enchantress.
"Waht the- WE WERE THE ONES THAT WERE SUPPOSED TO ATTACK TODAY!" She roared, "YKNOW WHAT! Nevermind! You shall all perish here instead, then I'll crumble those darn kingdoms of yours!"
I wanted to run back to Herb and the others, but I couldn't. It was too late now, I entered the castle and I had to trust that they will stay safe. So I and the other cookies had no choice but to continue down the dimly lit scarlett corridors...
